[Discover Weekly] View previous Discover Weekly Playlists

The discover weekly feature is excellent, however I was disappointed yesterday to notice that last weeks playlist had disappeared. It would be great to be able to view previous discover weekly playlists.

Thanks

@user-removed: Do you have an IFTTT account already? You have to allow it accessing your Spotify profile, then you can add the public recipe to your personal IFTTT recipes. Finally you need to choose your Discover Weekly playlist from the dropdown list, as it may be in a different language than English and save the changes. The Discover Weekly Archive list should be located in the left sidebar of the desktop client when it has been automatically created after the first initial backup. Last Monday something was broken on Spotify for a while, so it took longer for the new list to appear, and some people have a shorter list than the usual 30 tracks this week.

What happened to Discover Weekly??!!!

I love Spotify, but sometimes they do things that are perplexing. Not being able to archive the personalized Discover Playlist is maddening and frustrating. I pay money for this service and....really? The way to recover the previous songs on the playlist is to create an account on Last.FM and connect it to Spotify?

@BJC if you like, you can archive your discover weekly with http://www.mixkeepr.com

Appreciate that, Markus. The problem is, none of the solutions I've read in this thread can help me remember what the songs were from LAST WEEK'S playlist that I forgot to save somewhere.

I listen to a lot of specialized playlists when I study, that are very different from my normal taste in music. For example, in order to study I can only listen to instramental/ classical music. Because I listen to these playlists a lot when I study, my Discover Weekly playlist has a lot of this kind of music on it, which is not what I want. Is there a way to tell it to base its recommendations on my other, actual music playlists and not my study music playlists?

@hans-jürgen Is your IFTT recipe still working?

I tried to set it up but the "Which Playlist" dropdown doesn't list "Discover Weekly Playlist" or anything simlar from Spotify.

I only have a few playlists that I created myself so there isn't many options for me in the dropdown.

I have the same issue with other similar recipes.

Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers

For me it works as expected, I got all tracks from last week copied to my Discover Weekly Archive playlist on Monday morning. Maybe you have unfollowed or moved Discover Weekly somewhere else, so the recipe cannot find it? As mentioned before, it is listed in your language in the dropdown list.

Thanks @hans-jürgen

I didn't realise I had to follow my own Discover Weekly Playlist.

I'd always just accessed it under the Browse option.

The Discover Playlist now lists as an option in the dropdown on IFTT.

Glad I could help, so you will probably see it working tomorrow morning. 🙂 By the way, you can move the Archive playlist to any folder if you want, e.g. I have one main playlist folder "My Library" where I also dragged the Archive playlist in. That way all saved tracks are part of my usual shuffle play of my complete library when I don't want to listen to specific albums or playlists.
