Equalizer auto preset by music genre

Idea for new Equalizer option:

Make equalizer adjust automatically to genre of the song 'playing now'.

Example: 

- Next Episode by Dre: EQ preset "Hip Hop"

- I need your love by Calvin Harris: EQ preset "Dance"

..and so on...

This may only be important to audiophiles like myself, but it should be a relatively easy feature implement.

Currently I find myself navigating back to the equalizing settings tab when I switch playlists. It would be great (and save a lot of time for users) to automatically equalize songs based on their genre...

The Smart Equalizer - an AI based system, or something more simple.

When I am going through my songs on Spotify, it is a fiddle to have to change the equalizer to fit each song as a playlist plays through. Therefore, I just end up turning it off for the sake of convenience.

Taking the time out of my listening experience to change up the equalizer to fit each song is totally worth it - I am listening to the song in such a way that I will get the best out of it. But I still have to interrupt my listening experience.

To streamline this, and make the listening experience would be an option available that would allow Spotify to identify the genre of music of a song, then automatically change the equalizer in order to get the optimum listening experience from a song.

Perhaps this is an option that would be available only on Premium, or only 'smart' to a certain extent. But essentially, a way to change the Equalizer to tailor to each song instead of having to rummage through the settings and interrupting the listening experience would be a fantastic addition I feel.

Agree. Also it would be great if we could have equalizer settings per playlist, applied automatically. I.e. you probably want very different equalizer settings for techno/trance, pop, heavy metal, classical etc. It would be great if I could set the equalizers settings for the playlists once, and then Spotify automatically applied them each time the playlist opened.

By the way I can't even find the equalizer in the Android Spotify app. Where is it?

Hey!

Your idea was submitted a while ago and unfortunately didn't receive the amount of kudos needed to stay active in the ideas board (100 Kudos per year). 

In order to keep the Ideas Exchange clearer I'll close this idea for now, but this doesn't mean Spotify rejected this idea.

I’ve recently found that the equalizer can really improve the quality of your music. If you listen to multiple genres at the same time though, you’ll constantly need to be changing the equalizer setting. There should be an option that automatically changes the equalizer’s preset based on the genre of the song that you’re currently listening to, even if it’s in a playlist with a variety of genres.
