[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Status: Implemented

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.
 
We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such. 

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

Why is this still not implemented. This is the thing I hate the most about Spotify. My kids use my account as often as I do. Having to constantly monitor songs due to explicit content is getting old real fast.

Been a year since the last update. Other services like Amazon and Apple Music have options to block explicit content. Nothing worse than sitting in a car playing a playlist to find an explicit song starts playing.

Well, I think I'm done with these guys. Moving on to Apple Music, of all things! I hate Apple, but I hate even more embarassing myself in front of my kids just for playing a radio list in Spotify. Does anybody now how to migrate playlists to Apple Music?

Why can I not see if a song is explicit in the playlist so I can more easily scroll through and remove

I would have signed up to spotify a long time ago, my kids a always asking
if we can have spotify, and having an Alexa that plays spotify and have
spotify in the car but even that doesn’t get me to sign up all the tine
they play explicit lyrics without filtering

Could they have a spotify kids app like YouTube have, I can then put his on
their iPods instead of full app.

Suggest creating a public relations issue for Spotify.  Maybe then this arrogant "I don't care what customers want" company will wake up:   Here are some ways to contact various organizations to submit story ideas/tips.

That's such rubbish Spotify. Just say you're not going to do it and tell us why. If you wanted it done it would be done by now.
