FIX SPOTIFY'S SHUFFLE

FIX SPOTIFY'S SHUFFLE. How can you even call it a shuffle. Even though I've deleted my cache and restartet the app many times, when I go to my playlist and select shuffle, not only one or two of the same songs get played, BUT IT'S THE SAME 6-7 SONGS IN THE SAME ORDER EACH TIME. It is mathematically impossible! I have three hours of different songs I want to hear. PLEASE make it more random, I know A LOT of people feel the same way. It's so frustrating!!

I have a cynical feeling that it is meant for free users to also use up their skips so they can stick in a paid song later that they think will earn them money either from popularity or something else.

I wish that the shuffle was specifically "exclusive shuffle" where it randomly picks out songs from the pool of songs *leftover* after during that listening session. I think spotify doesn't actually track listening sessions or wants to reserve the extra server space to manage that (I mean it could be managed client side tho bruh).

right now shuffle is literally preload songs at random( questionable) and then repeat into oblivion.

Turning it OFF has changed my life. My ears blessed to re-discover beloved tracks long lost in even the deepest playlist.

Clearing cache is also a good idea.

@patw2020, the issue is the investment in AI itself. Shuffle shouldn't need any more processing than a simple randomizer and if you are feeling fancy, just add repetition prevention, like the iPod's shuffle feature did back in all that time ago. In fact, shuffle mode has been around since digital audio started being a thing exactly because it's easy to implement. And as @HarryMu4277 mentioned, it can be completely done client-side. It shouldn't be too consuming to do a GET request returning the IDs of every song in the playlist and save that list in cache with an expiration date of like 14 or 30 days, so it doesn't request the list every time you open the app, with the option to manually reshuffle, which would then get the list again. With that list, your device can shuffle the IDs and request them in the shuffled order. No need to do the shuffling in the backend

My favorite playlist has about 950 songs from a ton of different bands that I love and I just wish Spotify would wake up and give us a shuffle that at least pretends to be random. My commute this morning lasted 8 songs, 6 of which were from the same band. That band has around 25 songs in the playlist which is less than 3% - this would be practically impossible in a truly randomized playlist. This happens all the time, it just picks a band and rolls with it instead of giving me a little bit of each. Very frustrating.

Seriously, if i have 90 songs in my playlist I want all of them to be played and once they all have been played,  THEN you can repeat. It's what shuffle actually means lol

I have the same irritating problem. 2.000 songs and I only listen 30. I'm tired.

I’ve built up a wonderful library for myself and this shuffle is killing me. I hear the same songs when I have so many different ones, and then when I use Smart Shuffle, it just gives me the same songs I pretty much already have instead of introducing me to similar artists that I have never heard of or something like that. The shuffle has been bad for a while but seems worse now.
I work out a lot and I train and my workout playlists don’t have that many songs on them for it to be playing the same songs in the same order all the time it’s a bit unfortunate because I have been building my library and other music apps so I can switch over if the shuffle is not fixed but I do love Spotify so it’s frustrating. Please fix the algorithm!
