Getting rid of smart shuffle

My Spotify account recently updated and   have smart shuffle applied to my playlist. I am a Spotify free user and I noticed that regular shuffle is a premium feature only. I understand that some people like this feature, but for the others that just want to listen to their music without some random song coming on every 2 songs, it would be great to have either have this feature eliminated or to have the ability to turn it off. I understand why free users can’t turn it off, because Spotify wants more people to pay, but this feature is very annoying. Many of my friends and loved ones have had the same experience and opinions as me, and are considering leaving Spotify.

Please fix this!

I've never used smart shuffle, and it's a pain to switch between shuffle modes because of smart shuffle. It ruins the queue, takes forever, and sometimes glitches out all because of smart shuffle. Please let us disable it!

Hello Spotify,

Your users are expressing strong concerns about two issues:

1. Smart Shuffle
2. Repeated Songs on Shuffle

Many have noticed frequent repetition of certain songs and are frustrated with the intrusiveness of Smart Shuffle, despite over 4,000 likes requesting its removal.

I suspect you have deals with artists and individual tracks, which might incentivize playing "cheaper" tracks more often than "expensive" ones. This started with repeated tracks years ago and continued with the persistent Smart Shuffle feature, both seemingly designed to optimize your revenue rather than the user experience.

It's surprising that you're willing to risk user satisfaction for a small economic gain.

If these issues are not resolved by the end of 2024, I will switch to another platform.

Even if my suspicions about your incentives are wrong, your unwillingness to remove Smart Shuffle is enough.

Anyone who agrees, please like this idea.

Spotify is dividing all the votes of splitting ideas just asking the same: get rid of “Smart“ Shuffle. Just do alike and ignore them. Move to another platform. More people should follow

It's an issue for premium users, too. I got Smart Shuffle turned on in one of my playlist, I don't know why. every time I was turning it off, it kept turning on again. So frustrating. Ruined my queue with completely irrelevant songs (it was a playlist with songs that have a personal meaning to me). But yeah, who cares about the users.

I HATE the smart shuffle! I have been a premium paid user since 2015. I should be allowed to permanently turn off smart shuffle! I don't even want the ability to hit the shuffle button and have smart shuffle popup. When i hit shuffle, i ONLY want shuffle of the songs in the playlist that i meticulously put together over the years!

Spotify needs to cut the **bleep**! Stop forcing features that a majority of paid users don't want!

Why not give us a option to turn off smart shuffle for free listeners? It will give more good reviews than bad reviews from free listeners in the future on your app.
