Improve mood-based recommendations and playback continuity

I’ve been using Spotify for a long time and I genuinely love the platform. I don’t want to switch to another music app, which is exactly why I’m writing this feedback.

One issue that’s becoming increasingly frustrating is how recommendations ignore the current listening mood. For example, when I start listening to a sad or emotional song, Spotify plays 1–2 similar tracks and then suddenly switches to a completely different vibe—fun, upbeat, or high-energy songs. This happens both in playlists and after searching a song.

Music is deeply emotional, and sudden mood shifts ruin the experience. When I’m in a specific emotional state, I want continuity, not variety for the sake of variety. Similar-user behavior or artist overlap shouldn’t override the listener’s ongoing mood.

I believe this is a small but important algorithmic issue that can make a huge difference. Fixing this would significantly improve user experience and help Spotify retain users who truly connect with music emotionally.

I hope Spotify takes this seriously, because I want to continue using and supporting this platform.
