Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

We need filtering, not just labeling. I personally don't even feel like listening to any playlist or discover weekly from music I don't know. Because instead of enjoying the music, I sit there think "is this AI"

Yes but it's becoming increasingly difficult to determine what is AI
created content. In addition, the waters are muddied even more because
some people are using AI to enhance their own voice etc so it becomes a
gray area as to whether it qualifies as AI created or not. 😞

If you need AI to make your voice sound good, perhaps a career change is in order.

As for detection, the irony is most services use AI to fight AI, they look a for subtle signs in the stream, things like perfect pitch (which is impossible without AI or autotune), sudden changes in volume, weird artifacts in the sounds, and voices/instruments roaming way out of their frequency boundaries.

So it's doable, you just have to sell your soul to a different robot overlord.

I definitely want a way to filter out all AI content, permanently. I only want music by flesh and blood humams.

Adding a comment here to increase visibility of this issue. I really enjoy finding new music from the discover weekly playlist but after listening to the first few tracks I noticed that none of the artists that I have listened to are real people. To me, this is an affront to all Spotify users and feels incredibly soulless. After investigating I found that two of the AI generated artists in my discover weekly were created by the same entrepreneur named Lawrence Vavra, who owns a label of several different AI "artists". This has completely broken my trust because I used to feel like Spotify recommendations were made for me and my tastes but now I feel like I'm being hand fed literal slop. I now Google every single artist name to make sure they exist before I add them to my Library. I will likely cancel my service if this does not change soon. Let me remove AI garbage from my experience that I pay for, please. This will snowball into a huge issue as AI takes up more and more of our digital space, it would be great to be able to, at the very least, filter out this swill.

It's disgusting what this service has become. Now at least 25% of the songs I get recommended is AI slop, completely trash music. People that say "it's hard to tell if something is AI or not" is either deaf or stupid. Because it's so utterly obvious. And to be honest, my problem is not even about whether the music is created by AI or real humans, it's the fact that the AI music is so fukcing bad I rather stick my head in a synthesizer than listen to**bleep**.

Please offer a filter for AI generated songs.

My Spotify experience is currently very poor. Looking to change to any platform that first comes out with this filter (Looking at you Tidal).

This situation of AI-generated content flooding spotify, playlists and infecting the recommendation algorithms is getting ridiculous and completely out of control.

We pay spotify premium to listen to real human‘s music, not AI slop that’s shuffled and sneaked into our (once great) recommendations or Daily-Mixes, that’s not even labeled as such. Thus is poses a major and user-unfriendly extra effort to manually filter and block out those sloppy ghostbands, which creators are just trying to profit off of it while overshadowing and driving away real music content.

To be clear, I don’t consider ALL AI content as bad „music“ - some is actually good and impressive, but it MUST be transparent and be a choice to opt-in. The thing is: you expect to listen to real bands’ music and in many cases you can’t even recognize it anymore as AI, creating a feeling of betrayal when you realize it and a general distrust. There‘s no label for AI content and even typical intuitive indicators don’t work reliably anymore, as many of these ghostband creators try hard to conceal the truth it being AI slop by impersonating bands/interprets and adding plausible/believable band descriptions, images etc.

This also damages the reputation and reduces the chances of newer or lesser known real interprets, as they all are now viewed under critical general suspicion with the flood of AI slop.

I used to love Spotifys recommendation features to experience new similar music that fits my taste and to broaden my music/genre diversity. But the inclusion and integration of AI slop into Spotify has completely ruined this key feature for me.

This situation needs to be addressed asap by Spotify. Act now or lose your customers and reputation.
