Mark / Disable AI Generated Songs

The platform is increasingly flooded with AI-generated songs (especially the Release Radar), making it harder for users to discover authentic, human-created music. To improve the listening experience, Spotify should introduce a clear label for AI-generated songs and provide an option to filter them out entirely.

Hey folks!

We're seeing your feedback and, in this regard, we'd like to share some more info on the matter 🙂

Spotify is introducing clearer AI disclosures in the song credits, as well as stricter impersonation rules!
These updates will help protect artists’ identities, ensure royalties are distributed fairly, and give you - the listeners - more transparency.

Note that AI disclosures do not affect how the music is treated for recommendations.
For more info in regard to these new introductions, see the Newsroom article here.

That's all for now, folks! Stay tuned for possible updates in the future.

I’ll be checking out deezer… Spotify, are you listening?

Obviously not, I've been actively encouaging users to jump ship for months and they haven't banned my accout yet. That and, their one and only response did nothing to address the questions and concerns we have.

We are essentially all just shouting into the void to the other lost souls.

Sign up for Deezer now, wait a few weeks for a double length free trial offer, then sign up for premium and drop Slopify for good.

I know, it's a repeated idea. That should be repeated more.

No problem with that content on the platform, if people want to hear it, let them hear it. "AI bands hitting top 10 most listened"? Don't like it personally, but people should be expecting this ever since Hatsune Miku started filling out shows.

Just give me an opt-out, I'm not interested in those.

I think almost half of my current Discover Weekly is generated by AI.

The problem is that the music sounds a lot like what I really like, but part of listening is also getting to know the artist, but there are no artists to get to know when a computer has made the music.

I agree that those songs MUST be clearly flagged as ai-generated.

I am disheartened to see that this post was made so long ago. I just finished my Day List and I swear 90% of the music was made by AI. I hate the sound of it, and I am getting tired of having to click on each band's profile page and blocking them. Please get them off your platform.

LaughNReload

I don't even want to hear it at all. I get tired of having to go in and manually block these fake bands so that they don't get recommended or pop up on my playlist. It's annoying, it interrupts my listening experience, and overall makes me frustrated with Spotify.

A mod said that AI disclosure will not do anything for song recommendations but it NEEDS to.

Discover Weekly is my favorite feature on Spotify. It has been since it existed and it’s where I have found my favorite songs. I am maybe 10 songs into my Discover Weekly today at so far 3 artists were AI. All of these took music created from real people and make them “reimagined.” Many of them had covers featuring AI generated Black Artists. Only 1 disclosed that it was AI.

You have robots pretending to be Black Artists stealing songs from real people. Remember how it felt to learn about Milli Vanilli? This is worse. I have been Ride or Die for Spotify since middle school. It was the first subscription services I ever paid for and it’s the one I’ve always said I’d never give up. But this is insane. This is I miss my Discover Weekly giving me fresh, new artists and songs.

Spotify, you MUST:

1. Put a button in the settings that can opt out of AI artists (I know you can do this, it will basically serve the same function as opting out of explicit songs)

2. All AI songs need to have a sticker or some flag to designate its AI-generated status

3. Any artists that does not disclose they are an AI artist should have the ability to be reported and investigated.
4. At the very least, allow us to have a button to take AI songs off of our Discover Weekly, Release Radars, and other mixes and recommendations.

Yes please, I want to opt-out for all AI generated content. If you don't want to implement that for some reason (can't think of one but ok) - then at least give us some option to remove AI content from weekly lists.

One of the reasons I just cancelled my premium. Bye!
