[Mobile] Create & manage Playlist Folders

It would be nice to be able to better organize playlists in folders on the mobile apps.  Or at the very least, specify which folder a playlist should go in when it is first created.  Right now, in iOS, any playlists that I create are just added to the main list, without giving the option to put them in a folder, and it is not possible to move playlists to/from folders.  I'm assuming this will be the same on Android when it is implemented.

My primary use of Spotify is the android app.  Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to manage the folders.

On my computer i can create folders for my playlists. How in the world is this still impossible on my phone in 2025

From my understanding, there is a feature on the desktop and web version of Spotify where you can create folders for your playlists. However, many users of Spotify (including myself) have the app on their mobile device where this is not available. It would be incredibly convenient to have these folders on mobile devices for organization and accessibility purposes, as well as for aesthetics.

You should really consider making this one a priority. It’s been years. Without folders on mobile, my user experience is considerably worse since I have over 400 playlists to manage. Having folders would greatly increase my satisfaction with the platform and many others agree with me.

I also think playlist folders should have changeable cover photos like playlists so it’s more aesthetically pleasing.

This issue was first raised back in 2012. It's honestly ridiculous that we still can't choose which folder to save a playlist into on mobile. That feels like a basic feature — being able to decide where something goes. Since it's been 13 years and nothing has changed, I'm not holding my breath for a fix anytime soon.

Imagine:

Its 10 am, you arrive at work, school, uni,...

and all you want is to focus. You want to listen one of your favorite focus playlist.

Yes, you could have pinned it, but you have several playlist for focus and today your taste is specific: chillstep, whitenoise, heavy metal,..

So you have to scroll or search throught your long list of playlist collected over time. Or remember the weird name you gave the playlist, because you are quirky.

Annoying, all you want is to start to concentrate and that inconvenience annoys you. Not a great start to the day... 🫠

Or your are at a Party and you have this playlist perfect to boost the mood! But the song is ending and you have find it quickly! Scrolling through the long list of playlist, you miss it and the next song is starting! Friday, by Rebeka Black ☠️

Simple folders for playlists would solve all these Problems.

Yes, you can create folders on a pc, but its 2025 and I am scrolling through my music on my phone.

If there is a way to create folders on mobile, than make the UI better because I could not find it 😅

Just a better overview of your playlists to find the music you long for!
