[Mobile] Create & manage Playlist Folders

It would be nice to be able to better organize playlists in folders on the mobile apps.  Or at the very least, specify which folder a playlist should go in when it is first created.  Right now, in iOS, any playlists that I create are just added to the main list, without giving the option to put them in a folder, and it is not possible to move playlists to/from folders.  I'm assuming this will be the same on Android when it is implemented.

Hey folks,
We really appreciate so many of you coming to the Community, adding your votes and comments to this idea!
For now we'll be keeping this idea at 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement.
If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.
Thanks .

Some context: I have a lot of playlists (100+). I sort my playlists into folders and subfolders.

- I would like to be able to drag and drop folders and playlists into any order i want (in addition to sorting alphabetically) similar to how you can reorder songs within a playlist.

On PC you can drag to reorder songs within a playlist but this doesn't seem to work on IOS. You can "pick up" the song but you can't place it in a new location.

12 years and still waiting. Seriously, how long could it possibly take to implement folders in this app? Half a day?

Kind of surprising how long this has been a feature request and yet it’s still not being implemented. I saw elsewhere on here this exact request dating back to 2012, with heaps of comments supporting it, yet 7 years later in 2019 it was deemed not important enough to do, and still appears just as unimportant 5 years later in 2024. I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if it was due to an incentive to keep users attached to the desktop app, as part of gaining data from user analytics or advertising reach etc.

After all this time my workaround (finally) is to load the web player in my mobile browser and then request the desktop site. It’s clunky and cramped and takes a while to load, yet at least it allows you to actually move playlists into folders while on your mobile device, as a bare minimum. Still better than having to remember to go and do the task specifically on a desktop while 99-100% of your time is spent on mobile.

I'm not the only one who loves their music thoroughly organized. A genre may have multiple moods, tempos, and some songs even have slight details that makes the difference. I've got too many playlists and it's breaking my app, and it's also boring to search through all of them to find something specific.

It'd be great to be able to create folders and put your own playlists in them.

Good news, this is a feature on the web and desktop apps! It would be nice to have this on the mobile app too, but at least it's possible somewhere.
