[Mobile][Other] Remove or manage “Your top podcasts” from mobile home screen

On the mobile app Home screen, “Your top podcasts” isn’t reflecting my most frequently used podcasts. It contains podcasts that I haven’t listened to recently, and yet it omits at least one of the podcasts to which I have listened recently.

How is Spotify defining “Top” podcasts?

Regardless of this definition, I want to manage which podcasts are displayed on my home screen.

Several users have provided feedback on this — and in particular, some users have unwittingly shared explicit podcasts with young children or family members. These people cannot dismiss/forget these podcasts from their home screen. Inappropriate and embarrassing.

Allow Spotify users to manage which podcasts appear on “Your top podcasts.”

Are there any updates on this? Still embarrassing the way Spotify prioritizes podcasts over music. With the price-hike, would be nice to have a little more autonomy on what I'm exposed to when I open the app.

Accidental clicks are the only at the can make podcasts look like it was a
good investment. So long as there’s executives with egg on their faces it’s
not going away.

How can we push this issue to the top for reconsideration/reevaluation?

I have tried opening a new duplicate issue and it got closed quickly as duplicated. It makes sense, although the moderator essentially commented to "trust the process".

But waiting 4 years for a fix that is essentially a few lines in the codebase (new button and a filter), that probably chatGPT could implement, is becoming an insult to the community.

The simplicity of the fix in the face of a popular and enduring request suggests that Spotify has a motive for keeping the music and podcast content entangled. My guess is they need podcast listens because these include sponsors (by the way, don't I pay for premium so that I don't have to listen to commercials?). As Alabamabill suggested, they are looking to change our listening behavior, not respond to it.

Just to articulate the "purist" perspective and why these audio-types should be permanently separated:

- Music is not equal to Podcasts - I don't want to see Podcasts when I'm looking for music and vice versa

- Music libraries are catered, so that the intrusion of Podcasts negatively influences the "vibe" I'm going for with my Spotify account.

- Autoplay on Podcasts also is terrible - I am presented with political/social commentary I never asked for, much less want intermingled with where I go for music (an art form that can supersede the political/social zeitgeist). These Podcasts that autoplayed are then incorporated into "daily recommendations," further ruining my user experience.

There are so many ways to deal with these issues that are simple solutions, nevertheless, these requests are at "not right now" status for the last 4 or so years. Give me a break.

If there were an app that focused only on music, and I could easily move my music library and playlists there, I would move in a heartbeat. To that point, I should be able to download at least a list of the music contained in my library, as I did create these.

ok, that's my rant. I don't think this issue is going anywhere

There is a podcast that I listen to (but don’t follow) that shows up in “your shows” and other places. Given the nature of this podcast, it could be dangerous for other members of my household to see if they happened to look at my Spotify account. Much like Netflix has a “remove from Row” option, I propose that Spotify also offer that option. When I click on titles in “your shows”, share and follow are the options. Remove would be an easy addition to this. I would like to be able to listen to what I want to without leaving a trail within my account. Thank you.

Absolutely ridiculous this simple request has been ignored so long, especially with the recent price hike. Get your stuff together or people will leave.

If anyone else has the same problem, that a 2 second podcast is clogging the home screen, I've found a workaround. I've emailed Spotify privacy (**bleep**) that I want my podcast related data to be removed from the Spotify servers. For those of us in EU, they have to do it due to GDPR, and the algorithm will be unable to recommend anything based on the empty podcast history.

I would like to ask again for an easy option to remove podcast recommendations.

Love this. If enough people do it, they will have to add this as it will become too costly.

So I have been listening to podcasts for years now on Spotify and I accidentally listened to Dr.NoSleep creepy stories. I don’t like the podcast I don’t like scary stories, but no matter what I do it constantly try’s to auto play the podcast. It’s a pain to skip it especially if I’m absorbed in a game or in the middle of a workout. I want a way to remove the podcast from my auto play and the “my shows” section

Hi I have certain podcast channels coming up all the time. And I've never subscribed to them. How do I ensure these podcasters do not come up again?
