[Mobile][Other] Remove or manage “Your top podcasts” from mobile home screen

On the mobile app Home screen, “Your top podcasts” isn’t reflecting my most frequently used podcasts. It contains podcasts that I haven’t listened to recently, and yet it omits at least one of the podcasts to which I have listened recently.

How is Spotify defining “Top” podcasts?

Regardless of this definition, I want to manage which podcasts are displayed on my home screen.

Several users have provided feedback on this — and in particular, some users have unwittingly shared explicit podcasts with young children or family members. These people cannot dismiss/forget these podcasts from their home screen. Inappropriate and embarrassing.

Allow Spotify users to manage which podcasts appear on “Your top podcasts.”

Hey folks,

We appreciate you coming to the Community, and adding your votes and comments to this idea.

We're setting this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement.
If we do have any new info to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

Thanks

I listing to pod casts and if I had listened to one and it wasn't my cup of tea I wouldn't want to listin to it anymore but the pod cast still stays on the home page, and there is no option for removing this podcast from the home page.

It's irritating when you've listened to your normal weekly pod cast the one you dislike come on after.... it's annoying. I'd like to be able to have my favourite pod casts front and center of my home page not the ones I disliked.

I can exclude albums/playlists from my taste profile. I can't do anything with podcasts - why?

Has Spotify implemented any of the suggestions that get made here?

Hard to believe that with almost 5000 votes, it's not being considered.  These issues keep coming up, and spotify are consistently ignoring these requests.

Spotify labeling this as a “Not Right Now” feature for more than 3 years shows a blatant disregard for customer concern on an application based solely on one’s preferences. For an app that benefits when users actively listen to the music or podcasts that they enjoy, forcing users to view unwanted or occasionally inappropriate content implies as to why they are at a profit loss. (https://www.wsj.com/articles/spotify-spot-q2-earnings-report-2023-646fa771?st=9exc370px61nucw&reflin...)

For what seems to be an essential feature (removing unwanted media from Home Screen) apparently is either too difficult to implement or “not worth their time,” either of which leave the smell of a “flawed app.” As a user for more than six years, I am disappointed to find this response when priority is given to an “AI DJ” which is rarely more functional than a well diversified playlist. This is an L for Spotify.

Yes, I 100% agree with you. Have nothing new to add, I think everything is said correctly and adequately, just wanted to bump the topic in case it gets a small amount of new traction.

I think they actually increased the size of the podcast icons and expanded the subsections offering you podcasts (e.g. "recommended for you"). Of course, all podcast offerings are prioritized over music choices

Podcasts that I have tried, but did not like and do want to listen to again, like Dana Carvey and David Spade's Fly on The Wall, stay in my list of suggested podcasts and begin to play automatically after podcasts I want to listen to finish. This is an issue I find very frustrating. I want to be able to remove these podcasts so I don't see them and they won't play automatically. This is also a privacy issue as I sometimes have other people around when unwanted podcasts begin. If I was listening to adult content and my children are around, they may hear something I don't want them to hear.

Please allow me to delete what I want from my Home Screen as I hate the podcast that is there and I no longer listen to it.
