Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

This isn't helpful. It's a feature I would never want since I curate the heck out of my playlists. Having to cycle through it is a pain. It also prevented me from being able to play my playlist when I was driving because I then would have had to fuddle with the phone to disable the feature. That's not a user friendly experience. Please offer a way to completely disable it

Chiming in to say I also hate smart shuffle, please give me the option to disable it permanently.

yes, thank you. dear spotify, i hate smart shuffle - didn’t ask for it to be pushed in my face as a playback option have to cycle thru and it always delays when toggling thru. it’s a pebble in the shoe, and with to date no option to permanently turn it off it’s just dumb design. didn’t ask for it, don’t want it, paying user, it’s functionally a big, please add the option in Settings to DISABLE it.

I actually hope that they take this smart shuffle nonsens OFF. Otherwise I may have to boycot Spotify.

Can we get a option in settings  to toggle Smart Shuffle on and off? God damn it is annoying having to cycle though with it buffering for almost a minute at times. I don't like it all I feel it's unnecessary please get rid of it or give us an option to disable it PERMANENTLY

Hi, I'm also having the same issue of the smart shuffle taking a while and habing to wait to deactivate it...

Smart Shuffle is obnoxious. Get rid of it or allow me to turn it off completely and permanently at the account level. My cardio playlist is curated for BPM. Spotify completely messed up my tempo by randomly injecting some dumb song into my playlist.

I am having multiple issues with Smart Shuffle, including the fact that I cannot disable it all, not in settings and not even by double-clicking in the player. It just leaves the 'circle' under the shuffle icon. And secondly, yes, it takes too much time, at least on mobile, to setup Smart Shuffle (which looks like bad development approach taken, it can do it in background and don't impact the performance of the UI).

Hope the Spotify team will listen to the community and add a **bleep** switcher for that feature - it won't take too long to add a single button to the settings.
