Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

I have issues when I turn it off... it becomes impossible to turn it back on.

I have to go through this whole process of trying to make it work again, and since I am never sure what got it working again, I am left doing the equivalent of button mashing until it magically works again.

@Ghostfox175, if you find out, how made it to get into “impossible to turn it back on“, let us know, this state is wanted by many….

i just noticed smart shuffles on for every playlist i see but when i listen i dont wanna be bombarded with random recommended songs every time so i turn it off but its annoying to do that with every playlist, is this a glitch, either way at least add a setting like "enable/disable smart shuffle for every playlist"

also i might listen to a playlist but forget to turn it off & unexpectedly hear a bunch of random other stuff

Good suggestion with close to 2k votes, 56 pages of comments (and similar threads with a similar amount of likes), Spotify simply doesn’t care about customers, why should we care? Just not following own rules… until it dies out. Fortunately Spotify has competition

Do you really understand our problem? It is a very bad UX to toggle with one button across 3 functions? And each time you need to wait for this bug to turn on and off. I am not using Spotify anymore due (and only due to) this. I want to shuffle my songs several times until I can get a better order. NO other weird songs included and no waiting in between. Well for me it’s done with Spotify until I can turn it off

We had the enhanced button, it worked great. Then they removed it and gave us this **bleep** instead...

People are begging them to be able to disable it but they don't care. At this point I'm seriously beginning to wonder if I should switch to some different music service. 

This feature it literally making me go insane.

it really drives me mad you cannot permanently disable it.

It still keeps re-enabling itself and I don't like this feature. Please fix your software so we can actually Disable Smart Shuffle!!! I like Spotify over Apple Music, but I may have to cancel my family plan and move to Apple or Amazon music. Fix this NOW!

Why doea this even needs to be a suggestion. 

How the **bleep** do you release a feature without a toggle button. 

It's a no brainer an the easiest thing to add. 

But I guess you couldn't care less of your customers
