[Mobile] [Other] Smart Shuffle toggle setting in settings menu

Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Hey! It looks like your suggestion is growing up fast and it's amazing! We are going to change its status to 'Good Suggestion' now and we hope it continues being supported by more and more users.
Thanks again for your suggestion. We really appreciate it 🙂

So, I hope this isn't a fluke, bug or outage... but, Smart Shuffle is gone in both my Windows app and Android app! Happy days!

Unless it's an A/B test thing, I still see the darn thing.

7:55am PST Dec 9, 'Smart Shuffle' gone from windows desktop app - BUT is still polluting the Apple iPhone iOS Spotify App. **For the last three weeks, Spotify has simply 'altered' the order of 'Smart Shuffle' activation, it is now NOT on by default, rather, it is the second option in the Shuffle - Smart Shuffle - No Shuffle fiasco. 'Smart' Shuffle still clogs the otherwise smooth operation of the app, and since one now has to tap over or through the 'Smart Shuffle' option to get from 'Regular Shuffle' to 'No Shuffle', it can add several seconds of lag/delay just to deactivate all shuffle options - this remains a pain point and given how long it is taking Spotify to fix their mess, it is also a significant reason my Spotify NPS score remains a 1.

Good-ish Spotify, you can do better.

Confirmed, "Smart" Shuffle gone from Android app. However, for me this took way too long and created way too many frustrations. I'm sticking with Apple Music. None of these apps are perfect, but at least with Apple I haven't had to deal with them f*cking with my personal playlists.

Looks like it is resolved finally!

Edit: nvm still a issue

Both shuffle options offered by Spotify are a joke. They simply repeat about 60 songs every time ,I have 1400 plus liked songs and Spotify must be doing this to save money.I will cancel my account and go elsewhere because this is ongoing.

UPDATE: BAD NEWS!!! 7:50pm PST Dec 12, their so called 'Smart' Shuffle on PC, is no longer removed. Their virus infects the app once again. Shame on you spotify, you most certainly can do better.

Hi all, signing in for probably the last time. I've taken the plunge and bought all my music as FLACs and self-host my own streaming service using off-the-shelf tools. It was expensive but it's a one-time purchase and they're mine forever to do whatever I want. I cancelled my Spotify subscription last month and haven't regretted it for a second.

Well done Spotify you've driven me away after apparently 8 years, if your insipid trophies are to be believed.

Merry Christmas one and all!
