Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

i was able to not update for almost three months but my disgusting google phone did it anyway while updates were turned off. i hate smart shuffle. stop slamdunking**bleep** down your users throats. i am unsubscribing

Dear Spotify developers,

If you want to keep Smart Shuffle as a feature, then please for the love of god give your users the ability to permanently turn this feature ON/OFF in the Settings menu.

It should NOT be forced on us users having to cycle through different shuffle modes just for us to simply want to swap between Shuffle ON and Shuffle OFF. This is absolutely terrible UX.

This is a kick in the teeth for us paying Spotify Premium users.

My Question or Issue

Is there any way to completly disable smart shuffle? I mean, not just double tap the shuffle button, but remove smart shuffle from evem being an option.

Every time I want to disable random shuffle the app activate smart shuffle, and it doesn't matter if my internet connection is fast or slow, it takes a lot of time do load all the songs, so then I can disable it and I don't want this. This stupid thing should be an option under settings and not mandatory.

Please remove this feature. It is surprisingly un-optimized, and I have to wait 10-15s for the program to add/remove songs that I don't want. It is not fast (adding 2-5 new songs (5-2mb) that I may or may not want) seems supremely silly and slow.

I hate it. Smart shuffle has added zero utility in my Spotify usage. I do not listen to the suggestions, and instead use my original release and discover playlists.

Where do I vote for this feature to disappear.. I click the link it just takes me to the announcement and nothing further. I want a toggle to permanently turn it off please please please… I shouldn’t have to wait 15 sec to switch between shuffle modes.. sometimes I want to turn shuffle off and then I get stuck having to wait to toggle shuffle off as it rotates though the “enhance””smart shuffle” mode.

This is the solution for people who want it, and i think you need to do it every time it updates, but at least that's not as frustrating as needing to disable smart shuffle everytime you touch the button lol

There's this thing called lazy loading that you should tell your developers about. makes it so if i want to DISABLE shuffle I dont have to wait for 5s before smart shuffle finishes loading..

This is going to be closed for "not meeting requirements" but I hate smart shuffle so much, I made several complaints in the moderator posted thread "Introducing Smart Shuffle". These, along with the 600+ other complaints from other users, have been ignored and nothing about the feature has changed. Then you increase the price of premium. Absolutely ridiculous. I have maybe a month of patience left before I switch streaming services - though I've already had to put up with this feature you've been "testing" for months. Because the thing is, even with bad UI and an expensive cost, I want to still love spotify like I did for most of the 7 years I've been a premium member. I want to keep giving y'all chances, but it's really starting to not be worth it anymore.
