[Mobile] Remove current Song from Playlist

Hi

This is a usability improvement for the Mobile devices. Sometimes I want to remove songs from a playlist. This is currently quite a long task to perform on the mobile device.

  1. I first have to select the right playlist.
  2. Then I have to locate the song, which is not listed alphabetically. They are listed in the order I built the playlist with the oldest first and newest last. Some of my playlists have up to 900 songs in them and scrolling slowly can be difficult and timeconsuming.
  3. Then click on the "pencil" icon and  delete the track I don't want.

I think it would be a better user experience if we could delete songs as easy as it is to add them to a playlist.

So here's a suggestion for the mobile app, look there's even a space for it on the info page! Smiley LOL

Spotify Delete Track Idea

Cheers

UPDATE 3 June 2017

I have been contacted by user eviljojo22 who has developed a Plugin that creates a playlist named "Remove from Spotify" and every 45 minutes minutes it deletes every song in it and also in every playlist in which that same song appears (which may not be what you want). However, this is an option that may help you before Spotify gets round to providing this very simple function. Good luck (and Thank you EvilJojo22)

UPDATE 7 February 2019

I have been contacted by user bamboony who has developed an android app that might solve the problem in the short term:

Hey folks,

If you'd like to remove the song that's currently playing on Android devices, you can quickly get to it by tapping the title of the playlist (located in the top center of the screen). This will open the playlist and the current song will be highlighted in green. From there, you can tap the three-dot menu and select "Remove from this playlist".

We'll keep this idea open and if there are any updates about adding a remove song button to the menu on the 'Now Playing View' or if we have some news regarding this option on iOS devices, we'll post them here. Remember that you can still add your votes here if this is something you'd like to see in the future.

Thanks!

So I connected to it but don't see a playlist now in my Spotify called "Remove From Spotify"?

I've been wanting this option forever! I also drag whole albums in as I don't have time to listen and pick favourites but then deleting the ones I don't like is such a pain! I think the above idea is brilliant but would also be happy with an option on the playing song screen to 'go to' the song in the Playlist and use existing delete song option. Please please please implement something soon as this is very frustrating!

@KeSoze2 you have to wait a few minutes to see the new playlist.
@mintluv check my answer in the previous page, you can try: https://spotify-playlist.eivo.fr

When playing a playlist in shuffle mode it is really hard to find and remove a song from a playlist to keep the playlist actual and nice. E.g. a playlist with around 200 songs and then shuffled to some area of the playlist - it is not visible on screen where the song is to delete it.

Imagine me driving in a car a lot while listening spotify ... for me it is atm just impossible to clean playlists

1. shuffled songs should be always in view in the list - the list would just jump to therunning song

2. the menu would contain “DELETE FROM PLAYLIST”  (on desktop it would be the menu in “rightClick on the cover” and on mobile the “three dots menu” in SongFullscreen view

3. there is an awesome functionality on itunes where you can just delete a song from all playlists and the library ... what about also having this a s a hidden feature on desktop?

press ALT+DELETE on Desktop for instance

I am new to the community ... how long does it usually take until a little feature like that is implemented? What are the experiences guys? the request is from 2012 if I understood right ))))

Hello Spotify, anyone there?!

Acquiring Sonalytic, introducing Codes, etc, is al fine and dandy, but of little use when the basic functionality of the playlist is deficient without a delete option!

Maybe the fact that Apple Music got it right, might incite you to wake up and follow suit?

I lost my patience. Let's use power of Social Media. I've started with this tweet: https://twitter.com/BartoszWogorka/status/864466103015165952

thanks so much for restoring my enjoyment of the Spotify experience. Since I've been with Spotify, I've said I no longer listen to "bad" music. Well ... when your playlist approaches the 10,000 song limit as one of mine does ... it's kind of hard to find the one song I detest! Your "remove from Spotify" playlist works like a champ. I'm once again enjoying Spotify like I did in the beginning! Thanks a million.

This is a major issue.  There no way to delete a song from a playlist with 1900 songs unless you're on a laptop.  Just plain dumb.  Add an option to delete it right below to Add to Playlist.  Also need a reverse sort option to play newly added songs first.  Will be giving Apple a try soon if this is not fixed.

Yes, this would be a fantastic feature.  I am a long time user and have built up several playlists.  Some are a few hundred songs long.  When i get bored of a song, i would like to delete it from the 'now playing' screen on both a mobile and tablet.  The alternative is to scroll through a playlist which is very time consuming.  Please try and add this feature.
