This is an elaboration of an idea/problem that unfortunately has been closed without proper consideration/feedback. My description pertains to the Web player as that is the only way I use Spotify.
The "Music video" indicator as currently implemented as an artist prefix is bad because:
- artist may be truncated as the limited space in Queue view is occupied by the "Music video" indicator (see attached screenshot). Being able to read the song artist without hovering mouse is a lot more important that seeing the "Music video" indicator.
- the reason in the linked idea post: it makes it harder to read song artists when part of the them are shifted to the right by the "Music video" indicator.
Idea: remove the "Music video" indicator from Queue items, leave it only in the "Now playing" bar (bottom of the screen, left of the player controls), where horizontal space is not as limited (artist truncation less likely). The "Music video" indicator should not prefix the song artist even in the "Now playing" bar - the fact that a music video is available is not the most important information, so the indicator should be a suffix instead of a prefix or on a separate line, but not made more prominent than the song artist. Ideally, only the icon could be left, with the "Music video" as hover text to not waste so much screen real estate on it.
