[Music] Crossfade when skipping Tracks

Hello, I don't know if idea has been suggested before but I couldn't find anything like it.

So, when you're currently playing an track and suddenly decides to switch song in the middle of it, it gives a very "sharp" transition.

My idea is to, just as the "Crossfade Track" option, to crossfade tracks even if you decide to switch in the middle of the song.

My main "Inspiration?" for this idea is partys. Everyone been through it and it happens pretty much every party. People starting to switch tracks every 10th second and it's just straight out annoying.

I think a crossfade would solve this problem, half-way at least.

lch würde mir eine Funktion wünschen, die es ermöglicht, Crossfade auch bei manuellem Songwechsel zu nutzen. Derzeit funktioniert Crossfade nur bei automatischer Wiedergabe, aber eine nahtlose Übergangsfunktion bei manuellem Wechsel zwischen Songs wäre besonders hilfreich für Events oder DJs.

There are other features I'd like to see in Spotify, but this one takes top priority.

Any time I switch tracks, the crossfade should apply. I don't care if it takes a couple of extra seconds to start playing the next track, as long as the transition is smooth. Right now I can click a random track and there is no delay before it starts playing (on desktop), so there's no reason you couldn't crossfade to it. If the new track doesn't load in time, the current track should just fade to silence in the meantime.

This should happen when I click Play on a new track, or when I hit the Next button.

Bonus points for an option to fade out when hitting the Pause button.

Found this thread through a google search. Wondering why Spotify doesn't have a feature that Winamp included in 1998?

I find myself playing music at pool parties, etc. and I’ll get tired of a long song and want to skip to the next - but it’s always so abrupt. I think it would be a cool feature to be able to fade into the next song seamlessly and at ANY point within the current playing song - and this is how I think it should be done:

When on the full-screen track list, you can slowly swipe from the current playing song to the next. While swiping, the next track begins playing over the top of the current song. Depending on how fast or slow you swipe determines how far you get into the next song. When you’ve completed the full swipe to the next song, it stops playing the previous one.
