[Music] Custom Start & Ending Times for a Track

Hi.

I'm a big electronic music lover and there is only one feature i would like added to spotify. The option to choose a part of the track i would like to play and have the settings saved.

In the world of electronic music there is almost allways 2-3 minute build ups, and not many radio mixes of each track.

This can be a problem when having a party and a track lasts for 7 minutes with 3 of them is a buildup that not everyone would like to listen to.

It would be nice to have a feature like this that i can change on each track, just drag 2 buttons to a start and end point. and maybe have a 3-5 second fade on where i choose to set them.

Made a quick illustration on what i mean. Spotify proposition.jpg

I am writing to suggest a feature that I believe would be highly beneficial for both users and artists: the ability to crop songs. While many listeners, including myself, greatly appreciate the entirety of an artist's creative work, there are often specific portions of songs that we thoroughly enjoy and wish to focus on, while other parts may not be as appealing.

By introducing a song cropping feature, Spotify could enhance user experience by allowing listeners to customize their music playback. This would not only increase user satisfaction but also encourage more engagement with the platform.

I hope you will consider this suggestion and look forward to the potential implementation of such a feature.

Allow people when they are saving or liking a song to save a particular part from the song if they want to do so and only the part they saved would be visible in their playlist. It would be beneficial for both the app and the people using the app for a variety of reasons like:

  1. Customers would be able to have a better experience using the app as they’ll get more control
  2. Customers would spend more time on the app leading to more plays
  3. More artists would have a chance to get recognition
  4. Artists would be able to get detailed insights into what parts of their actual song are performing well with audience.

    and many more reasons.

Hi, I like to listen to one or two paragraphs of a song and then change to the next one.

My idea is to play the famous part of a song until it hits the chorus and then change to the next song - kinda like what a DJ does. Please could you make this feature available for playlists and songs which are queued.

This feature will help especially for dance playlists where at a house party people can perform hook steps of the particular part of song rather than dancing to the entire song.

This is exactly what I need, I really like the first 50 seconds of a track and find myself skipping every time after the first 50 seconds have passed (Bratva - Slaughter to prevail, Just after the roof 😂).

Time stamp for start and end of section to repeat instead of a whole song

So I was just reading comments, this is a request that has been made since 2010, and since that time people have said that Itunes already have this feature, and your answer has been "Not Right Now" but lets vote for this ? Really ? This request is 14 years old, just say to people that it cannot happen, POINT, instead of saying we are working on it.

100 agreed.
This is ridiculous.

This feature will take the app to a different level of music play experience.

Normally in parties you want to listen as many songs as possible without getting tired of the same tune.

I remember Winamp had this feature and it worked amazing for parties and friends meetings.

I hope Spotify adds it soon....Apple has Mixonset app which seems to work this way but nothing for Android users.

I'll keep waiting....

I’ve been waiting for 3 years now. Spotify what’s the hold up? Why do you
not want to implement this feature which seems to be simple given the fact
you already know hope to cross fade. Is it not a good ROI for your product
? It would be for so many users and will increase stickiness of your app.
Can you consider adding this feature?
