[Music] Custom Start & Ending Times for a Track

Hi.

I'm a big electronic music lover and there is only one feature i would like added to spotify. The option to choose a part of the track i would like to play and have the settings saved.

In the world of electronic music there is almost allways 2-3 minute build ups, and not many radio mixes of each track.

This can be a problem when having a party and a track lasts for 7 minutes with 3 of them is a buildup that not everyone would like to listen to.

It would be nice to have a feature like this that i can change on each track, just drag 2 buttons to a start and end point. and maybe have a 3-5 second fade on where i choose to set them.

Made a quick illustration on what i mean. Spotify proposition.jpg

The option to 'dj' your playlist, so it only plays the segments of songs that are best - like the opening verse, chorus, bridge, then chorus, fading into each one. This would be an automatic function and could apply to Spotify suggested playlists too.

There should be an option to remove large (multi-minute) gaps at the end of certain songs (often the last track of an album). First off, it’s stupid if these artists to upload their songs without removing these lengthy gaps, & secondly it’s stupid of Spotify to not automatically remove these gaps (or at least offer the possibility to do so), but I guess that would make too much sense.

It’s surprising how many songs actually include these lengthy silences (some 20+ or 30+ minutes), making them useless for playlists. And no, crossfade of 8 or 10 seconds is obviously not a solution & completely ignores the actual question, though is provided anytime this issue is posted (as seen above).

Allow users to set a custom timestamp where a song will automatically skip to the next track when played in a playlist. For example, if a user dislikes the outro of a song, they could set it to skip at 3:15 instead of listening to the full 4:00. This setting would be saved per song and only apply during playlist playback, so it wouldn’t disrupt listening in albums, liked songs, or elsewhere.

I would like Spotify to incorporate a feature that allows you to select and play only your favorite parts of a song.
For example: choose the time range (e.g., 0:20 to 1:30) and be able to listen to it on a loop or add it to a custom playlist.

This would be useful because: we often like a song just for a specific beat, and we wouldn't have to manually add it every time.

Finally!

They did it! Unfortunately without mentioning it here.

Like @ji22 mentioned it, the MIX function in the mobile app is exactly what we demanded for 😀

But it does not seem to be available on web player.

I can't tell wether it is on the windows app or not.

Thanks for chiming in @Berioldir! Just when I moved all my music from spotify to youtube to play everything for free, this happens. Oh well. Spotify was too late.
