It'd be awesome to be able to add my own tags to all of my songs in playlists, so I can easily and specifically sort my songs how I like.

Should be a pretty simple tool to implement.

I agree that boolean operators used with tags, in more or less complex arrangements, to select what to play would be of great value for the users.
Hopeffuly Spotify dev team will implement it, even if based on playlists, that now can be seen as a sort of tags.
Playlists are already possible to organize hierarchically, but that doesn't allow to do what you described. Anyway one can use multiple tags, instead of a tag combination separated with slashes.
Eventually Spotify may decide to progressively change the UI, so that we start feeling it less playlistish and more tagish. 

Furthemore, this change in the last update also helps me saving a lot of time, when sorting the new songs that I automatically add via Shazam or SoundHound.

With a simple mouse movement I can quickly check whether a song is already with some playlists (tags) and adjust if/as needed, instead of a boring manual search across several or many playlists. Amazing!!

Unfortunately Spotify took more than 5 years to touch this, and even so, didn't provide any recent feedback here regarding their intentions.

Song tagging would also help artists, companies and users.

I think this is the single most important development that coiuld be done currently.

I think Spotify should listen to their users, *before* they stop being Spotify users...
