It'd be awesome to be able to add my own tags to all of my songs in playlists, so I can easily and specifically sort my songs how I like.

Should be a pretty simple tool to implement.

I agree that tags or personizable song categories would help organizing the personal music collection a lot. Here I would even go a bit further and would see a big benefit if smart playlists would be implemented as well.

Customizable tags or music categories with smart playlists would be the ultimate dream of a Spotify premium customer 😉

Really frustrated with Spotify for not implementing this. I’ve paid premium since the beginning and have tried to keep my faith, but the innovation I’ve seen in these years has made my life worse, not better. Time to move on I think!

I'm very sorry that spotify doesn't understand needs of music collectors (take a look at Media Monkey, they understand). If I think of that kind of music streaming sevice I think of milions of songs, I think of different genres... I think I would use it forever, as long as I'm alive so I need to keep it organized... unfortunatly I don't think of Spotify anymore.

With smart tags (tempo.slow, ganre.jazz.latin, rating.5,...), filters and auto-playlists it would be so easy to keep it all organized. If one wish to use it. If not, fine.

Instead they are concetraitin on bizare minor things and on recommendation engines, which aren't useful for me because I'm getting mostly suggestions I don't like.

It's a big shame... this feature could win milions of permanent users. Permanent because if one invests so much time in organizing, he or she wouldn't change the service easyly. But they rather satisfy occasion users (with biazre features) who are changing services everyday.

Hey Spotify!

Maybe this thought will shift the balance: Enabling tagging of songs will provide you with a free crowd-sourced database of what your users are classifying the tunes as. This will give you a commercial edge, e.g. by improving your recommendation engines, early identification of music trends that could help leverage your copyright negotiaions, etc.

Please implement tagging as a replacement for the lists, for the benefit of your users and yourselves.

Today I ordered this functionality to Spotify support , it would be amazing to edit the titles of the songs , artists names as I want, Google Music All Access has this functionality , I think it would be easy to implement this in Spotify

Hey guys, as there is no update whereas they will add this feature one day or not, I'm wondering if you'd be interested in a tool to automatically create some playlists based on a genre or a year.

For example creating a ROCK playlist containing all the rock songs of your music library.

If enough people are interested I'll envisage making it.
