[Music] Turn off explicit Album Artwork

Even for songs that are not explicit, sometimes the artwork of the album is extremely inappropriate. Spotify needs to add a feature where you can choose whether to display the artwork or not. The ability to turn off album art would make Spotify safer for use in both the home and in the workplace.

We need this. The fact  that we can't replace or turn off artwork is irresponsible. Even Pandora Music and youtube music does this automaticlly when you turn on their parental filters. Doesn't spotify state:

"Don’t engage in any activity, post any User Content, or register and/or use a username, which is or includes material that:

  • is offensive, abusive, defamatory, pornographic, threatening, or obscene;"

https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/end-user-agreement/

https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/spotify-for-artists-terms-and-conditions/

Why the double standard spotify? You allow artist to break the policy but not it's users?

Must we parents, educators, VICTIMS OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE have to SUE SPOTIFY TO GET NUDITY OFF OF OUR HOME PAGES? This forum is a joke where we post issues and are blatantly objectified and ignored by the evil company who wants more ME TOO victims! GET THOSE EVIL PICTURES OFF OF MY HOME PAGE NOW! I HAVE CHILDREN AROUND ME AT A COFFEE SHOP WHO DO NOT WANT TO SEE THOSE PICTURES!

HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME SHOW PORNOGRAPHY AND SOFT **bleep** TO CHILDREN JUST BECAUSE I OPENED UP YOUR EVIL **bleep** WORSHIPPING APP!

Don't like my tone? Think about it! This is NOT a "well, we need enough votes to make this happen" issue. This is a real issue that makes spotify NOT SAFE FOR WORK, PUBLIC OR SCHOOLS! FIX IT ALREADY!

.ps, you DO have competition! Panera Bread would ban your site from their wifi. Culvers might ban you already, as they do ban radio/music on their wi-fi, normally (where I go). I can use Amazon's music service and eMusic. You are not the only person in the game.

SIGNED A VICTIM

And apparently, "pornography" as a word, is okay to use, but write "soft parn" is not? And, it IS okay to show evil pictures that we can NOT mention on the forum? YOU ARE HYPOCRITES AS WELL!

I just wanted to add to this idea. I accidentally posted an idea that was a duplicate to this without knowing that it had already been requested, but I'll add to this post instead.

I thought I'd go ahead and come up with the concept (just images, of course, not the actual program).

(I know the images are not particularly well made. Forgive me for that please)

SpotifyIdea1.JPGFirst part. Click settings and go down, until you get to this.SpotifyIdea2.JPGUse the search bar to find an album.SpotifyIdea3.JPGSelect the album you want to censor (Note that it doesn't show the cover - they want to not see the cover. So why show it to them again?)SpotifyIdea4.JPGFinal stage. Select yes, and it censors the cover only for the user. Select no, and it returns to the previous image.

I hope that this idea is considered :)

[I won't be responding to any replies directed at me, I don't chat to strangers online, I just wanted to forward this idea :)]

I feel that Spotify has become callous, apathetic, careless, cold-blooded, heartless, indifferent, insensitive, unsypathetic, inhumane, bitter, austere, callous, inexorable, implacable and uncaring to families when it comes to these important features and feedback topics. Even google, pandora and apple handles these features better. This is sad because spotify could really become the pioneer of everything music, but the lack of customer care in features such as this have continued to plague this music service.

Thank you for expressing exactly how I feel. I feel like this forum is a outhouse for those who do not qualfy for Privileged 1% of the population's restroom. I also feel that the moderators are only supposed to "listen" but make sure nothing changes and that all children are lamblasted with as much "I want you to be a victim too" **bleep** as possible to be sure that we have more god hatting victim wanters then we do now. Corporate clearly does not want change and does not care for change. Corporate is the true evil ones here.

So then, why am I not cancelling spotify? Because it has the best Messianic Judaic music available and my only other option is Amazon which lacks 95% of what I want. That is huge for me. I need it to work on my PC is the other biggest issue.

While my kids are searching for perfectly innocent songs, other results than what they are looking for can have inappropirate images on them. This my reason for upvoting this suggestion.

I would like to hide album artwork also.  I use spotify at work and don't need some of these images on my work PC (desktop).

The fact they allow 13 year olds to apply to this Pornogrphy. Speaks for itself.
