[Partnerships] Apple TV Support

I think there should be a Spotify feature for the Apple TV, similar to the Netflix App which is available. As currently, the only way Spotify can be played on the Apple TV is through AirPlay which requires an iPod Touch/iPhone.

With our new Spotify app for Apple TV, you can now access Spotify’s 50 million tracks directly from your TV, making Spotify the natural audio destination across your many devices.

 

This long-requested feature follows our other apps on TV platforms including Android TV, Samsung Tizen, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.

 

We’re excited to bring this app to Apple TV and will continue to innovate and enhance the app—there’s plenty more in the works.

Or you could stop using Spotify and start using Apple Music. It seems that this is what Spotify wants for Apple TV users. It is just weird.

I still hope that what works on Amazon Fire TV will also work on Apple TV one day!

 

Or it could be that Apple doesn’t want to allow Spotify in their streaming box because users could prefer it over their own Apple music...? Don’t know about the poltics behind the scene...

 

But technically I hope the Spotify app for Amazon would not be much different from an Apple version.

Super annoying that this has gotten close to 9500 votes and this hasn't been implemented yet. Shows that this support channel doesn't really work. It also makes you look like a company that's not on top of it and is slowly out dating. Not sure why a need / desire for this wasn't even on the forefront of your development roadmaps. A spotify Apple TV app seems somewhat obvious.

Probably useful to look at: https://timetoplayfair.com/timeline/ (from Spotify) and https://www.apple.com/nz/newsroom/2019/03/addressing-spotifys-claims/ (from Apple). Basically Spotify has taken an antitrust suit against Apple in the EU, claiming they're unfairly blocking competition. So that'd explain why there's no app yet.

With the stated Apple goal to terminate iTunes multiple things will happen.  Furthermore it appears that Apple Music subscriptions have now surpassed Spotify subscriptions:-(

 

We have been Premium Spotify for years and don’t want to change to Apme Music or a competitor.

We just received an Apple TV with our new TV subscription and we have two premium accounts and would like to continue using the with the Apple TV... Or should we subscribe to Apple Music?

I'm not a spotify customer for like 2 years now, only because of this issue. I use Apple Music really frequently on Apple TV and Apple Watch. I would like to switch to spotify, but without a Apple TV app, there's no chance. Already lost over 120 € on me...

How is it possible that this feature has nearly 10,000 votes but we still have no Apple TV App for Spotify? 

No App on HomePod, No App on Apple TV, mediocre App on the Apple Watch. Why should I stay with Spotify and not switch to Apple Music when there is no effort from you?

Votes have doubled in the last year.. Airplay quality is subpar and it just makes things annoying. Spotify seems to be behind in support for devices compared to competition. Please support the Apple TV with a native app soon.
