Playlist Approval & Transparency System

Status: Live Idea
0 Likes

Proposal:

Implement a pre-approval mechanism within Spotify for Artists, allowing artists to review and approve playlists before their songs are added. Provide detailed insights into playlist history, average stream counts, curator credibility, and audience demographics. Introduce alerts for suspicious activity and offer artists the option to manually remove their songs from flagged playlists. Include a toggle feature enabling artists to enable or disable the approval process based on their preferences.

Benefits:
• Enhanced Control: Artists can make informed decisions about playlist placements, reducing the risk of association with fraudulent streams.
• Transparency: Access to comprehensive playlist data empowers artists to choose reputable curators, fostering trust in the platform.

By implementing these proposals, Spotify can enhance transparency, prevent fraud, and provide equitable monetization opportunities for playlist curators, benefiting the entire music streaming ecosystem.

I believe this and my other ideas combined will improve the many challenges artist, spotify, curators, and distribution companies face with illegal botted streams. I’ve attached my original proposal to this. It was removed for violating community guidelines. Too many ideas put together. Feel free to share adding ideas to it or improvements.
