[All Platforms][Playlists] Add the same song to multiple playlists simultaneously

There is no reason why Spotify shouldn't have a functionality on at least the desktop app where you can drag one song into as many "selected" playlists as you want and have that song added to all of them at the same time…

Here's a little more info to back up this request:

I'm, for one, the kind of person who obsesses over music, and a huge component of that is the way in which I organize my playlists.

I believe it is probably safe to say that most people wish their music was better organized, but the primary reason why they aren't is simply the amount of time it takes to put together quality playlists. Instead, what most people end up with are a small handful of enormous playlist hundreds, if not thousands, of songs that have no rhyme or reason to why they are in the same playlists.

To avoid this dilemma, I have spent hours and hours sorting through all my favorite songs and making different types of playlists that they may fit into. One thing I learned early on is that a particular song is likely going to fit into multiple playlists, and this is where the problem lies and the primary reason why most people avoid making well thought out playlists altogether.

In order to add a song to all the playlists I want, I have to sit at my computer and continuously drag a new song I want put into different playlists into each individual one over and over again which, when organizing dozens or even hundreds of songs, can take an insane amount of unnecessary time. And that is if you happen to be creating and organizing playlists on the desktop app… if you are trying to do this on your phone, you might as well forget about it - it would take you an hour to add 20 different songs to 10 different playlists.

That is why I believe Spotify should add a function (starting on desktop and eventually moving onto mobile like they are likely to do with the "folders" for playlists) in which a single song can be added to multiple playlists at the same time.

Attached is a picture originally posted by a subscriber named anaraee who had requested this a few years ago, but apparently wasn't able to get enough traction then... hopefully this time will be different.

not a solution, but www.playlist-manager.com is useful.

You have my vote! Constantly run into this issue. Would also love to see what playlists the song is already in when I hover or click on it. Sometimes an old song I forgot about will come on, I"ll add it to a playlist, and it'll say already in playlist: add or skip duplicate. It'd be nice to know off the bat if it's already in an existing playlist I added years ago.

YES.

I LOVE THIS. would be v useful, as my library has close to a couple hundred playlists... Some way to see where it is now with the checkboxes... Perfect

I will post this link on my social media. I love this idea and thank you for reposting!

Yeah, this seems like a no-brainer. I'm hopeful too. I hope Spotify does it first because I'd hate to leave, I like their GUI.

I need this! When I find a track I like, it tends to go into a few playlists. I'd really appreciate this capability

Yeah this has always been a no-brainer for me as well. I have hundreds of playlists and sometimes several playlists deserve to have the same song in each of them, but it hurts to not be able to multi-add and see where songs already are in my playlists. Soundcloud has been doing this for YEARS now and they don't even have their own app! This is the one feature I've needed in Spotify ever since I got onto the platform, I just haven't known about Idea Exchange for today. You've got my vote!

(MOBILE USER) EVERY time I want to add a song to a playlist I want to add it to at least two!! It’s a royal pain to have to repeat the actions before the track finishes like it’s some kind of against the clock game!

That issue and the fact I have to then scroll down my endless list of playlists every time to locate the right one is another unnecessary and aggravating  waste of time. Why is there not a search bar at the top?
I appreciate you want the mobile app as pared down as possible but these two requests seem so obvious, basic, necessary & useful to all people. PLEASE SPOTIFY PLEASE. Sod the however many kudos points before it gets considered thing, this is a no brainer!

I'd be interested in this idea being implemented as well, as it would help me to more efficiently add a track to multiple "genre playlists" that I have when a song is representative of multiple genres
