[Playlists] See which playlists a song has already been added to

Sometimes I think of or hear a song and I want to add it to a certain playlist but I’m not sure if it’s already in there, or I just want to know what playlists it’s in (e.g. I accidentally added the song to the wrong playlist and want to take it out, but wasn't sure which one I accidentally clicked/pressed on). It would be nice to to have a feature where you can check which playlists of yours a song has been added to. I know that you there’s a notification if it’s a duplicate, but it would be more convenient if the song is in multiple playlists to just see all of them at once rather than getting that notification one by one for all of them, if that make sense.

Edit: someone in the comments suggested having checkmarks next to the playlist names in the "Add to playlist" drop-down and that would be perfect!

Came to the ideas forum to post this exact idea, along with the ability to add a song to multiple playlist at the same time.

Not only is this useful for new songs, but also for refining/modifying/reorganizing songs and playlists that already exist somewhere in a giant library.

I make many playlists and would like to be able to see which playlists I've put a specific song into. This would 1) prevent me from using a that song in too many playlists and 2) help me find playlists that use that song.

This feature would be awesome - totally agree. I'd love to search for songs added in my library / playlists.

On my phone, I'd love to be able to see what playlists a song is already present on so I can add to or delete from multiple playlists at once. This would be a huge time saver as well as more accessible for people. This would help keep playlists clean of "clutter" and allow us to edit playlists better as our moods/tastes change instead of deleting a playlist and starting from scratch.

I swear it used to be a feature many years ago but disappeared.. or maybe I dreamt it.. but yeah songs in my playlists from 2011, 2012 etc, if I add them to new playlists I'd love to see where else they appear in my Spotify lists.

Hi. I have had this issue when I try to add a song to a playlist. I now have quite a few playlists and sometimes I would like to locate a song in two or three different playlists but I am often unsure where that song already is beforehand and I find myself going into the playlists to search for the song on each one to make sure I am not putting it in a playlist it already is. So I was thinking maybe a visual dot next to the popup window on mobile for where to put a song in. and the playlists that have that song already have a indication on the side. and maybe keep the user in that window so they can in one go put that song in however many playlists at once before hitting done and exiting the window pop up. I believe this is a quality of life improvement for the app and I would really appreciate the consideration as it will make playlisting much more fun and organized and bring a lot more headspace to the user to focus on listening to the music playing 🙂

This feature would be very helpful in order to manage playlists, specially when you have lots of playlists. If this "go to playlist" option is implemented, you can easily find the playlists you have added a specific song to. We have been waiting for this feature for years. Hopefully, they add this feature soon.
