[Playlists] Sort by Release Date

It would be nice to be able to sort a playlist by the release date of the songs.

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

It would be really great if you could make an option to filter playlists based on the oldest to newest release.

At the moment there are no active ideas on this specific topic. In the past people asked for a general approach to add more filters. (like genre, tempo,...) But to limit this idea to "year released", this could make the implimentation quicker & easier. 

Now viewing /order of songs is limited to artist, title, album, date added & duration.

Adding the release year as a visible tag to this would be fantastic. Year is one of the basics for a music library !

i think adding a release order filter to playlists would be a great idea.

Sort by Year of release should be added.

 

The edit function should have a sorting option to made your custom sort. For example if i want my playlist to be filter first by title, then by artist and save that sort for future listening.

would be a really cool feature to sort playlists by release date, so the songs are in the order of the release date set in spotify. it would not be sorted as the day it was uploaded to spotify, it would just be sorted to the day that the release date was set to in spotify. this is also a good opportunity to show the exact date things came out on pc instead of just mobile.

Yes, this idea needs to come to fruition. Spotify needs to allow us to sort our artists, albums and songs by year!

@spotify what is the point in having communtity feedback and then ignoring it.

Having substantial support for a feature that is SIMPLE to implement.  Come on.
