[Podcasts] Remember unplayed / downloaded podcast filter when closing and reopening the app

Give the option to remember filtering by unplayed on podcasts. So that once the app is closed and reopened later, the podcast doesn’t have to be refiltered by unplayed.

Hey! Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.
We've been keeping an eye on this submission for an extended period of time, and it doesn't seem this will reach the votes necessary to put it forward for prioritization.
As such, we're marking this case as closed. This includes any similar suggestions that are received.

It's the first thing I look for in a podcast app - the ability to only show unplayed episodes. Such a basic features needs to be implemented for me to consider using the app at all. Hopefully Spotify will stop dragging their feet and make this (very basic) improvement happen

Clearly Spotify doesn't care about their podcast functionality or they would have added this years ago. It's SUCH basic functionality.
We should have to ask for this feature... it's not even a feature! It's a fundamental flaw.
So for now I encourage you all to find a different app for your podcasts. Spotify has failed.

Not sure why Spotify wants us to vote here. It shouldn't be a feature request, it's an bug and Spotify should recognise that. Preferences not saving their setting is a bug. Spotify just fix it and close this "feature request".

The fact that an upvote is necessary for a basic, fundamental feature is the reason I will not use Spotify as my Podcast app. How hard is it to persist a selection, seriously? And maybe the reason there are not more votes is because people still aren’t using Spotify for podcasts.

Can't believe this issue has been around for over two years and Spotify still hasn't fixed it. Does the product owner for the podcast feature listen to podcasts regularly?

Not remembering my sorting option for podcasts makes the app difficult to use, especially when driving.
