RETURN THE LIKE BUTTON

I don't care if this has been submitted a hundred times over, you Spotify devs clearly need to hear it. You should *not* have to go through the effort of finding the "liked songs" playlist, just to add a song to Liked, when you have a ton of playlists. Playlists don't even sort like they used to, it seems almost random which playlists show first despite which ones I interacted with last - but that's not the issue here; it's just yet another downside of the problem at hand.

Please. Please. Please.

Bring back the **bleep** 'liked'/heart button on songs and albums. Having to add liked songs to my liked playlist manually just leads to me adding it to different playlists because it's so **bleep** tedious in the first place. I've been adding songs to playlists and then using the PC version to mass-add songs to Liked because you make it so inconvenient on mobile. This isn't user-friendly in the slightest.

Just, why? Why can't you just bring back the little heart? I thought the point of liked songs was to add songs then and there; not to have to stop in the street to add a song to a playlist because it now takes several seconds to do so. I've been paying for Premium since 2009, and now I'm wondering if you're worth the effort. Fire whoever told you it was a good idea to remove the Liked button, seriously. Fire yourselves for listening, too.

I'd LOVE a bookmark icon instead

Who in here knows what app version doesn't have this stupid "plus" button. I need to sideload an old APK and go back to normal.

Yeah... It's that bad.

For years I've gotten so used to, and love, the heart button. Changing it to look like a check mark, that's fine. But I make a lot of my own playlists, so I got very used to using this system to know if there's a song in a playlist I made that I "removed" from my liked songs.

For example, if I'm listening to one of my playlists in the car and don't like a song in there, I un-heart or un-check it. Later, on desktop, I'll go in and delete ones from the playlist that I no longer "like". This helps me tidy them up.

With the new system that came out last week, if that one song lives in any other playlist, it stays checked. I'll never know what song I want removed from this one playlist, because I have to hover over each song, wait for the check drop-down window to appear, and try to remember what I removed it from. This is going to be so tedious and a huge turnoff. So I would love to see the old system, that has worked for 8+ years, to be brought back!

Please bring the like button back. It's awful to use Spotify now... I have no words to say.

I can't see which songs I liked before in random playlist, that helped me understand will I like music in it or not.

Also I don't like the plus button as an icon. The HEART ❤️ IS OUR TRUE ICON, OUR SYMBOL!!!

Okay, everyone is absolutely overreacting, I am seeing this on so many
threads. The devs have already spoken about this, they don't have any plans
anytime soon to bring this feature back. If the change from the like button
being a heart to a plus is so terrible and it's 'awful to use spotify now',
don't use spotify. You know why they changed it? i don't, but I assumed it
was because of feedback from listeners... the same kind of feedback that's
being given here... proving that you can't please everyone, no matter how
hard you try. The app is 100% still functioning, and I for one like being
able to easier add a song to multiple playlists at once.

If you spend any amount of time on spotify ideas, you will see that this idea has been submitted over and over and over again. Next time why don't you actually check to see if the idea already exists before posting, like you're supposed to.

Now I can't fast add the song to liked when I listen to music at work. I absolutely hate this. Also no sign of the "liked" music when I open some playlist or album, few hearts were a sign that I might like the rest of stuff, now it became completely random. Super frustrating, it's so annoying that I actually created an account here on community site to write about it. I HATE THIS. Lack of possibility of adding the music to liked with one tap will probably make me change the app I am listening on

Found their UI/UX guy 🤣

I believe there are some interesting ideas behind the new "Add to playlist" () button.

However, most users just want to be able to see at a glance which songs in a playlist they have already liked. This is now completely missing in the mobile app (so please bring back a "Liked" indicator in the mobile app).

In the desktop app, you can see at a glance which song you have added to one of your playlists, but you can't see if you liked it. Spotify should somehow change the indicator to include a heart, such as a checkmark ✔️ or a plus inside a heart, or a heart replacing the ✔️ inside the green circle.

The current indicator/button "Added to a playlist" should also be visible in personal playlists (as the former heart-shaped Liked indicator was). At least, an indicator that the song was liked should be directly visible in personal playlists (without mouse hovering in the desktop app!).

Then, there is the issue that a single tap on the new "Add to playlist" () button does directly add the song to the Liked Songs playlist. So, if you want to add the song to a playlist without liking it, you need to double tap and remove the song from the Liked Songs playlist first. Cumbersome.

This issue is more difficult to crack while keeping only one button instead of two. I would suggest adding quick double tap/long press/double left click (desktop)/right click (desktop) functionality to the new "Add to playlist" () button in order to like the song.

This implementation would have 2 benefits: first, avoiding liking songs by mistake, since a double tap or a long press will be needed. Second, users unaware of the double tap or long press will still be able to like the song by adding the song to the Liked Songs playlist after single tapping the "Add to playlist" () button.

Additionally, the same implementation (double tap/long press/double click (desktop)/right click (desktop)) could also be used to unlike a song. This would result in the "Add to playlist" () button also having a like/unlike toggle functionality.

PS: I made these suggestions a separate Idea: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Idea-Submissions/Change-the-new-quot-Add-to-playlist-quot-button-in...

YUP. I find it particularly annoying and inefficient that when I am listening to my liked songs on shuffle & come across something I no longer want in my liked songs, it takes extra clicks to remove it. A single tap to add or remove a heart was quick & easy. Not sure what the point of this update was when it adds extra screens/clicks without really enhancing anything. Like many in this thread, I have used Spotify premium for ~10 years & adjusted to plenty of updates, but this one is clunky and pointless…
