RETURN THE LIKE BUTTON

I don't care if this has been submitted a hundred times over, you Spotify devs clearly need to hear it. You should *not* have to go through the effort of finding the "liked songs" playlist, just to add a song to Liked, when you have a ton of playlists. Playlists don't even sort like they used to, it seems almost random which playlists show first despite which ones I interacted with last - but that's not the issue here; it's just yet another downside of the problem at hand.

Please. Please. Please.

Bring back the **bleep** 'liked'/heart button on songs and albums. Having to add liked songs to my liked playlist manually just leads to me adding it to different playlists because it's so **bleep** tedious in the first place. I've been adding songs to playlists and then using the PC version to mass-add songs to Liked because you make it so inconvenient on mobile. This isn't user-friendly in the slightest.

Just, why? Why can't you just bring back the little heart? I thought the point of liked songs was to add songs then and there; not to have to stop in the street to add a song to a playlist because it now takes several seconds to do so. I've been paying for Premium since 2009, and now I'm wondering if you're worth the effort. Fire whoever told you it was a good idea to remove the Liked button, seriously. Fire yourselves for listening, too.

I used to use spotify all the time and this change and the lack of response from the team infuriated me so much that after a couple of weeks I moved to another platform and I've been happy ever since. Don't use services that purposefully disrespect their own clients!

Dumping the ability to mark tracks with a heart (or whatever, it could be any friendly symbol, I don't care) was the dumbest thing Spotify has done yet. And it's a shame because the user interface has gone through some really nice improvements overall, in my opinion. I don't like being forced to use the download symbol as a heart-substitute ... it's quite clumsy.

The new sizeable columns and ability to choose which columns to display has me hopeful we'll finally start seeing some new column choices like album-release-date, key, tempo, etc.

But after all, why is it so important to know which songs we liked in a self-made playlist? Why do we want to have a heart mark on the playlist we made? I'm just questioning myself. What am I doing with that information?

"Track is in one of your playlists" and "You've liked this track" are 2 different concerns.

If you're in one of your own playlists, you don't need the indication that a track is in that playlist, but it's nice to see that you've also marked that track with a "like".

If you're not in one of your playlists (e.g. you're in an album, or in someone else's playlist, or in search results) then both indications are useful: hey, this track is in one of your playlists (the checkmark icon) and/or you've liked it (heart icon).

But I don't think Spotify will ever be able to accomplish this as simply indicating that a track is in a playlist of mine or that it is liked by me often doesn't work the way it should. That's crazy.

Most of us are well aware that the plus/checkmark did not replace the heart/like-playlist. Nothing was replaced. One thing was added at the same time as the other thing was removed.

Nearly 4K votes, and only just now becoming a live idea.

As dumb as it maybe for it to become a live idea BARELY I do hope its a step in the right direction. Its ridiculous that we need to fight so hard for this feature back. Sure its cool to know "hey you saved this song", but id rather know what songs I like.

Spotify or the art of slowness. The status has changed to Live Idea. Ohhhh. Almost two and a half years thinking about it.

"Good Suggestion" should have been automatic. It got 50 or more votes in days.

"Live Idea" should have been automatic too. It got 180 votes in days.

Two and a half years later they raise the Status to "Live Idea".

But they don't even follow their own rules.

The return of the like button should have happened months ago according to their own rules.

I am now in the "Implemented" phase, I have implemented my Life Idea and I have gone to Apple Music.

Actually the heart is back on the desktop version, maybe it means that it will happen on the mobile version as well. Let's see..
