Remember podcast played filter setting

I would like a feature where when filtering a list of a podcast’s episodes, I can exclude played podcast (existing feature) AND then have my previously selected filtering setting be selected automatically when I go back to the same podcast episode list (new feature).
Apple’s Podcast app has this feature and makes it much easier to get to episodes I want to listen. I find this gap in functionality so annoying that I’m tempted to stop using  Spotify and start using Apple only.

Note that I found that someone else submitted this idea and it was closed because it was deemed a duplicate idea. However, the referenced duplicate idea is to solve a different issue.  Here is link to the idea that  was incorrectly closed in my view:

Also, here is a link to the community page where many people expressed their frustration with this gap in functionality:

Hello @Lyubka ,

Apparently a few others have previously submitted this idea:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Spotify-Mobile-App-Save-podcast-sort-preferences/idi-p/5...

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Idea-Submissions/Android-Podcasts-Podcast-quot-Sort-quot-Not-Rememb...

Could the votes for these other idea entries be added to the idea entry I created?

Many thanks,

Dan

I completely agree with the comments related to this idea. And I'm pretty sure the filter settings used to save permanently for me and just recently went away. It is very frustrating to have to go into every podcast, every time I open up Spotify, and change these settings so I can easily get to the episodes I have not yet listened to. How many votes does it take for Spotify to actually care about the opinions of their subscribers?

I absolutely agree.

I completely miss this feature

Why is this keep getting changed randomly for several users? Looks like this is a reoccurring issue which periodically impacts users.

The app seems to default sort/display settings for podcasts to “Oldest - All Episodes” every single time I open the app. This is very annoying. Have you ever been in the middle of a 200+ episode podcast and opened the Spotify app only to find that you have to change the settings to “Oldest - Not Finished” just so you can find the next episode to play? Because I have. It happens to me twice a day. Every day.

Wouldn’t it be much better to just save the settings? I’ve set them to “Oldest - Not Finished” and I’d love it if they stayed that way unless/until I change them myself. But they don’t. Every time I open the app, I have to change the settings from “Oldest - All Episodes” (which I assure you, no one wants as the default) to “Oldest - Not Finished.” Why would anyone want to have to scroll through the tens or dozens or scores or hundreds of episodes they’ve already listened to every time they open the app? Why would anyone want to change the settings every time they open the app? (Here’s a hint: no one wants that)

When someone changes a setting once, don’t make them do it again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

It’s ridiculous.

It's simply outrageous of Spotify to reset this every time.
