Removing items from Recently Played history

I would also like it if we had the option to remove our recently played history because sometimes I would listen to someone's playlist, an artist, or one of my own playlists by accident and I don't really listen to the playlist or artist anymore or I already have a song by that artist and it doesn't make sense to keep it in my library or recently played history.

I made the mistake of letting my cousin use my Spotify in the car while giving him a ride 6 months ago and I'm still getting his music in my feed. Why it this so hard to implement?!

Why such an essential feature hasn’t made the MVP cut when countless other streaming providers have figured it out is downright absurd.

At least give your user base the courtesy of explaining why the request hasn’t been prioritized and what enhancements are being considered to give users more control over recommendation algos.

I have a playlist for sleeping, white noise, and nature sounds that I use at night. There is also a playlist I use as an alarm. These songs are not my preferred music for my daily waking activities. When I use DJ or For Me playlist, they are included which is frustrating. If I'm listening with my friends, I don't want them to know the songs I play.

We should start posting on Twitter/X instead of this forum as it’s clear that Spotify don’t actually read any of this.

use youtube revance and download everything, no need to pay any company

It's insane to me that this is not possible. You shouldn't have your track suggestions completely wrecked because you forgot to log your account out and someone else in your household listened to something you hate. Track suggestions are one of the main reasons I like Spotify and this makes it dangerously easy to ruin.

4.5 years later and this still is not implemented. So glad I got rid of Spotify premium and moved on to another platform. This is hot garbage to not be able to remove items from the listening history, or at least a "remove from algorithm" button so those songs don't count but show they've still been played.

How this has not yet made it through is beyond me.

I doubt it's an implementation issue but, even then, at least make the 'private session' switch readily accessible, or allow us to downvote a track, fcs...

SPOTIFY TEAM:

The private listening mode should be tweaked by your tech team so as to not save any podcasts or songs in your history. The UI should also be modified to allow for easier toggling of said private mode.
