Return expanded queue view (not only sidebar) for desktop as it was before and now on web

As mentioned in https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Mac/Cannot-expand-queue-section-on-Mac-desktop-application/... it would be great to return old and pretty standard view for queue (aka playing now). As having it very limited on sidebar is against existing UX

I am more and more convinced that the developers for Spotify have no idea what they should change, but have to keep making changes so they can keep their jobs. I can't think of a single reason why anyone would want a lot less information out of their queue, and would rather see a static page like their playlist.

The left panel for library can be dragged out and made bigger, but the queue which I would say is the key feature of the service when you are listening is stuck as a tiny bar at its max size.

Offtopic: I now noticed that my audio quality settings in app were changed to low. I did not notice any difference in playback to be honest but I suggest you check it too and turn it back to high.

The midsection is totally useless in this setup. The worst update ever. This is a downgrade.

Hayseus Kryst, it's beyond apparent that Spotify more than any media service just makes random, bs UI changes for the heck of it. Maybe just to keep people busy or whatever, I don't know. I do know that every time they make these **bleep** choices, it forces a percentage of their heavy users to come up with a workaround or simply get used to it until the next time they make another stupid change. For the record, I'm not against change. I don't expect every single change to be what I want. But as a premium user, I do expect some thoughtfulness and a higher ratio of improvement instead of constantly making it worse and worse, death by a thousand cuts. I know it costs money but maybe start doing some focus groups or send out some polls or something before degrading the user experience each and every time you roll out some dumb "enhancement." You have the money. I HATE THAT STUPID SIDE BAR SO MUCH. I MISS BEING ABLE TO EASILY SEE WHICH TRACKS I LOVE vs like. There are other things I miss, but I know all I can do is rant and rave and wait until something better comes along. It's been a long wait, so just keep merrily trashing on your users. Thank you for letting me vent. It's the least you can do.

This is par for the course with Spotify. Make change and get rid of the way it was before. They make a change for a few people who want it and screw everyone else who liked how it was. It never seems to occur to the development team to give options. It's just "This is how it is now. Get used to it." Completely frustrating as this continues to happen year after year with major changes. Get used to it. They won't address this or give their customers options on how the layout looks. They seem to want to force the useless home page on everyone. I used the full window queue constantly so of course they get rid of it. Their new features just seem to regularly take away features and the way I use the desktop app. Constant disappointment. This change in particular doesn't make sense. They are taking away the ability to manage the thing I'm doing at the moment. I can't adjust the size of the side bar. Epic fail.

Garbage change. Spotify made the user experience much worse. This takes the cake for worst app change for 2024. Hopefully they aren't trying to top how bad this idea was.

Spotify: Please learn how to offer options rather that push one thing on everyone. Give users the choice on how they want to interact with your app.

Yeah, I agree with what most others here have said. Please at least give us a choice to have our playlist and recently played back in the center panel which has enough room for them. The side panel is just too small for the queue or recently played list to be permanently located. If we could easily move it from one spot to the other (and it would remember its last location and stay there,) that would be ideal, but if it's not going to be a choice, then it should just always be in the center like before.

Recently the queue list was moved to the sidebar and that is a feature that I use in the main window every time I open the app. I lost a lot of information when it got shrunk with no option to widen the right sidebar similar to the left sidebar.

I'd like to submit the idea of having a settings feature to choose where each feature appears. You have several features: List of Playlists, Home, Search, Playlist management, Lyrics, Queue, Now Playing, Friends, etc. You have 3 columns as a main window and two side bars. It would be great if we could choose where those items show up.

Some might like the Queue in the left bar and the Lyrics in the right bar while keeping the Now Playing front and center. Others may want the Queue window front and center with their Friends list and the Search in the sidebars.

Flexibility like that allows users to get the experience they enjoy with a personalized feel to the desktop app.

Horrible, horrible update. 😭

Please Spotify, give us the option to expand the queue. 🙏

The other bit older and identical Live Idea with almost triple the votes this one has, has been put to the bottom of the popular ideas page (you have to click the down arrow twice to find it), even though it has by far the most votes in the current Live Ideas I could see. Maybe a coincidence, but that's just funny.

Spotify seems like just another company failing to understand its customers. I pay for the premium service and I liked it for a long time, even though there are hiccups here and there, but the UX has been mostly OK and maybe even evolved a bit(?) until this change.

I can only think whoever decided to force this change either doesn't use the service or is, I'm sorry to say, incompetent in this regard and shouldn't be in charge of these changes in the first place. Also how hard can it be just to have all these "new layouts" as options in a small menu somewhere? Or just allow full customization. That way you get to make the new change and people get to have options for layouts. How is it that 3rd party stuff can apparently allow for this, but not Spotify itself? Truly a mystery. But enough about judging people.

To me, Spotify itself is encouraging users to either change services or... dare I even say it... use their own service in less than legal ways. Just like many other companies these days that make the "Premium" service such a pain to deal with, that you'll feel like an **bleep** when paying for them, when you could be using it for free and have a superior experience, sad as it is.

Probably the above paragraph may cause me to be banned from here depending on how triggerhappy these people are (?), but these companies just keep spitting on us anyway and I'm about done caring as well. If I do get banned, at least I'll know someone/something from Spotify read it. I just don't respect these big companies anymore. Acting like they can't do stuff when they really could, but just won't.
