[Search] Search by BPM (Beats per Minute)

Hi All,

As someone who loves punishing my body by going for long runs,  a good playlist to keep me company is essential!

Picking out and discovering which 'choons' are going to speed me up and push me further can be tricky.

One trick used by many runners is to search out and find songs which all have a similar number of beats per minute so they can place them in order and then use the beat of the song to run to.

As such, it would be awesome to be able to search Spotify for songs which have specific ranges of BPM and then pick the cool [subjective] ones for inclusion in your playlists.

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for bringing us your feedback in the Spotify Idea Exchange.

While we don't have plans for Search by BPM right now, we're marking this as a 'Good Idea'.

Please know your feedback is reaching the internal teams at Spotify, and they're aware of the votes around this idea.

We'll continue to check out the feedback here too.

If there are any updates, we'll let you know.

Thanks!

I'd like to organise/ search my Playlists by BPM (beats per minute) as one of the criteria. I can do it on iTunes and I thought I'd seen it here on Spotify ...but now can't find it. Does it exist?

Come on, guys... How many runners in the world? Other sites have this feature already.

I spend 1 hour a day running on spotify...

Not following you…I am a fitness instructor, I need to know exact beats per minute in each song so I can choreograph 8 counts for my classes. I also run and workout on my own and use Spotify for that all of the time. This is completely different.

They do not react - meanwhile they ignore each request related to
bpm-sorting, it is for nothing. Check out that one here, it might be
something you can use

I would appreciate this feature (BPM data) and key data immensely. Please listen to your users, I mean your paying customers.

Searching by BPM is highly desired and basic functionality. Why it's not offered is puzzling.

They never answer - since years ...

For the love of God, why is this not a thing? How has this been a "not right now" idea? Trust me, I know plenty of folks that would sign up for Spotify if this was on there. Puh-lease consider! Pretty please.

Sadly Spotify has become as annoying as Apple in ignoring these Community threads

Their attitude betrays a contempt for customers which really doesn't sit well with concepts of brand loyalty.

Streaming services, like mobile phones, are increasingly competitive and commoditised.

How do you differentiate yourself if not through product features and customer service?

Tidal looks increasingly interesting ...

Please make this possible. Please!
