Select what music gets applied to AI DJ

I use Spotify for teaching so music that I don’t actually listen to gets put into the mix, and I don’t want to listen to the ABCs after slipknot. Add an option under the 3 dots in the top right to exclude a song/genre when it pops up in the DJ.

There's a workaround for this. Just make a playlist of the music you're using for work and then use the "exclude from your taste profile" feature on that playlist. That's how I've started to train Spotify not to play me the music my kids like.

This definitely needs to be a thing. I never listen to rap or country music and for some reason, DJ just keeps selecting rap. I just can't stand that genre and DJ just does not seem to be able to connect the dots.

Hi - I would love the ability to be able to control what genre the DJ is playing. I listen to a lot of electronic music and being able to have the DJ only mix electronic would be great, sometimes it works well and then randomly itll put in a rap or country song. Also being able to turn off the DJ's Ai speaking would be great, just having an Ai song mixer is incredible.

I use Spotify mindful classics to help sleep. I don’t want Spotify to see this as my favourite music

@Mona54 - If you're using a specific playlist, you can mark it "Exclude from your taste profile". It's in the little 'three dot' menu on the playlist.

I like white noise / rain sounds when I fall to sleep but I really dont want to be recommended new white noise / rain sounds in auto generated DJ, Release Radar, Discovery weekly playlists - I think these types of tracks warrant being excluded from more active playlists (ie. playlists where you're actively listening)

Dear Spotify Team,

I am an avid user of Spotify and appreciate the vast selection of music and the personalized experience your platform offers. However, I’ve noticed an area where the user experience could be significantly improved.

Problem: As a professional who streams music for over 40 hours a week, I often listen to instrumental jazz or lo-fi beats while working. While this is great for maintaining focus, it has inadvertently influenced Spotify’s AI DJ tool to the point where it predominantly suggests this “work” music, even during my leisure time. This has limited the variety of music I am exposed to and has somewhat diminished my overall listening experience.

Proposed Solution: I propose a feature that allows users to have more control over the AI DJ tool. This could include options to disregard certain listening trends or exclude specific genres or tracks from influencing the AI’s suggestions. For instance, users could mark certain playlists or listening sessions as “work” or “background” music, which would then be excluded from the AI’s learning algorithm.

Benefits: This feature would allow users to enjoy a wider variety of music and have a more balanced listening experience. It would also make the AI DJ tool more flexible and adaptable to different listening contexts, thereby enhancing user satisfaction and engagement with the platform.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe this feature would greatly improve the Spotify experience for users like myself who use the platform in diverse listening environments.

Best regards,

JD
