Smart watch sleep detection

Like many others, I listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks in bed. I take full advantage of the sleep-timer function but always fail pick up exactly where I left off.

Something all these audiobook/podcast apps are lacking, is a link. A link between actual sleep and their sleep-timers.

My smartwatch knows exactly when I fell asleep last night and it's very accurate. I fell asleep 22 minutes before the sleep-timer paused my audiobook... I only know this as I spent a fair few furious minutes scrubbing through sub 3 minute chapters on the audiobook to find where I left off. A few minutes isn't a lot but it's frustrating when the chapters are only 2-5 minutes long and I'm in bed, ready to relax.

Why don't we have a very simple link between the smartwatches we wear and a sleep auto-detecion?

I can't speak for others but my Samsung Watch5 Pro already has the Spotify app, I can pause and skip a song from my wrist, handy...

A function to stop my audio when I fall asleep would be a game-changer for me. If another app implemented this now I would leave Spotify after a good decade with them and give my money to the app with this feature.

**bleep**, I would even pay an extra quid on my Spoitfy bill for the functionality. I bet others would too.

To me, this is a no-brainer. Very minimal coding and work for such a massive step in the right direction for Spotify.

I know, I'm a genius - I'll send my bank deets over.
