My Question or Issue

Hi!

I’ve noticed that Spotify occasionally re-analyzes certain songs and changes their BPM values (and sometimes key). This causes a big issue when sorting playlists by BPM and key. This especially happens with film scores and soundtracks that have dynamic tempos, for example:

• The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Original Motion Picture Score) by James Newton Howard

• Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Music from the Motion Picture) by Lorne Balfe

Because Spotify doesn’t let users lock BPM data or manually correct it, the only workaround is to drag these songs manually — and they keep changing BPM whenever Spotify updates their analysis.

It would be extremely helpful if Spotify allowed:

1. The option to lock BPM and key values for songs in “Your Library” or playlists, or

2. A “freeze current sort order” feature to stop metadata updates from changing manually arranged lists.

This would make custom playlist curation much more stable for users who organize by BPM and key.
