Spotify on Standalone Apple Watch

Spotify is the only Apple Watch music app that does not allow usage on a standalone Apple Watch that is not paired to an iPhone. There are no such issues with Pandora and Apple Music.

We have Spotify Premium - with a specific user account that would be used on this Apple Watch - and running latest version of Apple Watch OS 9 on an Apple Watch Series 5 with it’s own cell number/ plan on Verizon.

We have tried to figure out with Spotify support, but there is no solution. For example, the below help article only works for an Apple Watch paired to an iPhone (on same phone number) vs. an independent Apple Watch with its own number.
