Stop frustrating parents — let us disable videos for kids!

I love that my kids enjoy listening to music — that’s what Spotify should be all about. 

Music helps them relax, focus, and enjoy moments with their friends and with us as parents. But instead of exploring songs, they get stuck watching endless, random streamer videos that keep popping up.

As a parent, I just want a simple option to keep Spotify focused on music.
Please add a setting in the Family plan like:

“Disable videos for this user.”

That’s it — a small change that would make a huge difference for parents who use Spotify with their kids.

Why this matters:

• 🎵Keeps Spotify focused on music, not video distractions

• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Supports parents who want safer, simpler use for their kids

• 💡Adds real value to the Family plan

• 😌Helps kids relax, enjoy music, and spend quality moments with friends and family

Spotify Kids isn’t available in the Netherlands and from what I’ve heard, it’s not a real alternative anyway. So right now, Family users have no control over this!

Please, Spotify... stop frustrating parents and give us this basic option! 🙏🎧

Support this idea. Honestly, I wish even as a solo user there was an option to disable constant videos and stuff, but at least I can ignore them. Can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to deal with as a parent.

Support this ideia. I simply hate the "discover something new for you" section, because there are literally videos of nudity and sexual incitement because I listen to BR funk, not giving the option to disable the videos. I just want to LISTEN TO MUSIC.

Youtube is for video and Spotify is for music. Ok it was. Now its full of totally unnecessary things like videos for example. Im driving or working while listening i i reality don't care about anything in my screen.  But devices keep disconnecting for 3 years while spotify just braking MUSIC STREAMING APPLICATION!

Good news! In select markets you can now create or convert an existing account into a Managed Account with the Family Plan.

This is a new account type for kids that allows the plan manager to turn off videos and block certain songs and artists.

Not only for kids to be honest. I want to be able to turn off any video or video-like content. It is extremely annoying to have something moving on the screen. I listening to spotify while doing other things (such as work) on my desktop. It is really distracting...
