[Subscription] Military / Forces Discount

Spotify currently offer students a 50% discount, yet no forces discount. Spotify should introduce a forces discount for current serving members of the armed forces.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange.

We've discussed this idea and while it is interesting, we aren't able to prioritize it and don't have any immediate plans to implement this. We will let you know if this changes in the future.

If we do have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here with a new status.

I am currently in the Army. I'm a medic. I'm in an infantry unit. I've done 2 years as a line medic and now I'm in the clinic. I see patients all day and give them treatment which includes referrals to higher levels of care so that they can ultimately solve whatever diagnosis they have, or to be compensated for it.  I'm not bragging, like how most veterans do, I'm justifying my opinion to counter your arrogance.

To say that service members shouldn't receive a discount on, like you said an extremely affordable $10 which college students could also afford, is completely disrespectful in every way imaginable? Are you American? Are you a liberal, unpatriotic supporter of any action antifa makes? Probably.

College students are just that, college students. Most of them don't even know what it's like to accept the fact that they could die or that they could be sent to a climate completely out of their comfort zone. College students don't understand teamwork or giving to communities. They work at Baskin Robbins to afford to buy weed, drugs and beer so they can party after their single lecture of the day.

I take care of the army (infantry, national guard and special forces) and civilians (contractors). Don't tell us that service members do not deserve Spotify discounts. There are less soldiers than there are college students in America, im sure it wouldn't "cost" them very much to do that respect for us.

If you're a medic then maybe you should have a little more empathy?
Besides, college students are in upwards of five to six digits in debt,
ineligible for state healthcare, and often ineligible for any other help;
which includes food/housing/etc.

Supporting college students isn't political, supporting military is.

Hey folks.
We wanted to post an update, since we made some changes to our ideas process.
Typically, we won't announce information about new subscription options, third-party integrations or new countries in advance.
We’re always working on improving the Spotify experience, but we don’t have any more information to share at the moment.
The best place to keep an eye out is on the
What’s New section of our blog.
Thanks.

I have just turned 72 and I am a disabled Vietnam Veteran. I was drafted and served my country as a combat medic in a **bleep** hole for YOU and other ungrateful businesses like yours. I like Spotify but you should be ashamed of yourselves for not having a Veteran discount.  Stop being ungrateful. You would not even have a Spotify if Veterans had failed in their services. I would like to know your reasons as to why you do not recognize Veterans. It might increase your business if you did. If there are others like me, then I am sure it would.

The stupidity, ignorance and entitlement here is **bleep**ing mind blowing.

austin3h8

Flip_8, dude shut the **bleep** up. You're such a loser. Just because you didn't join the military and you went to art school instead and rant about the war with the middle east doesn't mean soldiers don't deserve a MILD discount when college students have the same. You're the ignorant, self centered one here. Take your shitty attitude elsewhere, you **bleep**ing liberal.

@austinhr97 You do know that Spotify is a Swedish company? (domiciled in Luxembourg)

Let me get this straight, you and most people here are asking for a military discount from a company from a completely different country and you call me ignorant?

bb01028
I am asking for the same consideration as a customer that goes to college
would receive. Noting less, nothing more.
austin3h8

Okay then why does Spotify accept .edu emails from American students? Why would they put money into Americans college students that have nothing to do with Sweden? You seriously are making the worse arguments and it's unbelievably stupid. Spotify is a huge company and its as far as you can imagine from being politically driven.

I'm not sure you understand how a company works. Samsung is Japanese, and not only do they offer a huge active duty and veteran discounts, but they offer Black Friday sales to Americans and other countries. Of course they have other sales available, but black Friday is only in America. Why is a huge electronics company, who manufactures tanks for south korea able to give discounts to US armed forces, but Spotify can't even fulfill a huge petition to request military discounts? You're stupid. It's cut and dry. You're a liberal and you're only arguing with me because you'd rather make guns illegal and get sodomized by socialists.

filip_8

Yes Samsung is Japanese, and the Us military have also had a large military presence in Japan since ww2, witch doesn't make it odd that some Japanese companies might give army discounts.

Sweden has been neutral since 1814. Sure Spotify is domiciled in Luxembourg but the HQ and the operation is till run from Sweden, I'm not sure how it would look if they gave the Us army a discount.

And if you can't see the differens between student discount and army discount than you're the stupid one here.

You are crying over not geting a discount for "Serving your country" by a company located in a different country that has absolutely nothing to do with the Us army.
