Take Playlists to the Next Level: Sort by BPM, Key & Custom Tags

I’d love to see Spotify introduce stronger playlist sorting and filtering features. Specifically:

1. Sorting by BPM and Key – It would be extremely useful to sort playlists by BPM or Camelot key, especially for DJs, producers, or anyone curating playlists for events, workouts, or moods.

2. Permanent Display of BPM and Key – Currently, BPM and key are tied to the "mix" feature. I’d like the option to have this information visible at all times, even without mixing enabled. This would make playlist management and track selection much easier.

3. Genre and Tagging System – Adding a genre section to tracks (or even better, allowing users to set or customize genres/tags) would make organizing playlists far more intuitive. Being able to add custom tags (e.g., “chill vibe,” “workout,” “deep house”) would provide more flexibility and personalization for users.

In short, these improvements would give listeners and creators more control over how they organize and experience their music. For DJs and music lovers who care about flow, energy, and vibe, features like this would make Spotify an even more powerful platform for both listening and curating.

Using the Desktop App you are able to permanently display the BPM and key. There is a new column selection tool that appears when you hover your mouse next to the clock symbol.

I've written an api function that automatically sorts tracks in personal playlists by bpm and key.

Yes fully agree. Today I was just thinking about this and was looking forward the option but did not see one on mobile. This is a must on the app- with new mix feature roll out.
