I hope you're referring to an on/off switch for the lyrics on mobile devices, because the computer version already has it.

The person who created this thread wanted this function primarily because his kids see offensive lyrics to songs.  But in the first place, why is he letting them listen to music with bad words?

You know what you can do in the meantime?  Turn off the internet for your device.  I read in another thread that even if you downloaded music, you cannot see the lyrics when you're offline.

I DONT WANT THEM!!  It’s been like 10yrs. Enough already.

If you want you can just download music to listen to offline, and play them without an internet connection.  That way you won't have to see the words to songs.

Lyrics actually disappeared from Spotify in 2015 and came back for some countries in 2020, and in the following year for the rest.  Majority of Spotify users want lyrics in the first place because they like to sing along without looking at external souces, and want the platform to keep up with its competitors.

please for the love of all things good enable us to turn off lyrics. Never ever have I wanted them and I am so sick of them scrolling on my screen and taking up useless amounts of data and battery life. ENOUGH

You have the option to turn off the lyrics...on the web player.  If you're using a mobile device, be careful not to swipe up, so you won't see the lyrics.  You can play your music without looking at your screen, and that means you won't have to look at the words to songs, which saves data and battery power.  Download your music to listen to offline, because I read that lyrics are only available if there's an internet connection.
