[Your Music] Creating "Collections" of Albums

I have an idea that could make using Spotify better for people who put a lot of effort into managing their music libraries (and for everyone else as well).

Collections menu in Your Library

The idea is simple: Being able to create collections or lists of whole albums. Of course you could just add albums to regular playlists but then it just adds the songs separately, which is messy, so you can't easily see which or how many albums are there in the list or checking if there are missing songs.

You can add and remove whole albums to collections, much like songs to playlists

By having album collections we could easily see which albums are added to them and it would make it quicker to select certain albums for downloading by toggling the download button of a collection containing them. We could also re-order the list of albums quicker than re-ordering a simple playlist of consecutive albums broken down to songs.

This would also make it possible to listen to certain albums in a specific or even random order without having to add every album to the queue one by one.

You can download/un-download every album in the collection with one tap, you can also either play the albums in order or shuffle them, or even shuffle all songs within the albumsAdding or removing albums from collections

What you’re describing actually exists for playlists. Unfortunately it doesn’t apply for albums (unless of course you create a playlist of just the album - but for those of us who have hundreds / thousands of favorite albums saved, it would be a nightmare to organize and redundant).

Whoever (@AlejaR (Moderator) merged the original suggestion ("[Your Music] Creating "Collections" of Albums") with this "Collections feature" has completely missed the point of the original and needs to separate them again. The "[Your Music] Creating "Collections" of Albums" suggestion is a five plus year old thing that Spotify is for some reason completely ignoring the request of 1000's of users. This "merge" has simply muddied the waters and needs to be reversed immediately. What would be much more helpful is if the original suggestion was placed as a "Live Idea" and then ACTIONED, not lost within some other vaguely (un)related query that, as some have already pointed out, has a solution already in place. I hope this was not the intention.

For sure! You could have collections of different periods, or different
instruments, or even collections of your favourite composers or
interpreters. It's really hard for me to imagine how spotify haven't
implemented this indispensable feature for real music lovers and collectors.

Come on! You already took too long! Try to remember a good jazz album in your collection..... you can't because you have to scroll thru hundreds of albums of all the generes imaginable!

Spotify come on, it's been years, this feature would save us album listeners SO much time and effort. I don't imagine it's a difficult feature to implement.
