[All Platforms][Your Library] Increase maximum Songs allowed in Your Music

I feel like the maximum amount of songs allowed in one playlist, and subsequently in "Songs" playlist under the new "Collections" feature, should be more than 10,000.

Quite frankly it should be unlimited.

We are paying for a service but limited on how many songs we are able to save? That is absurd to me.

I recently started saving all of my albums into "Collections" and got stuck at about 1/4 of the way through - 10,000 songs has been reached and I am no longer able to save any more albums.

PLEASE INCREASE MAX NUMBER OF SONGS IN COLLECTION FEATURE!!!

WHAT IS A COLLECTION IF YOU HAVE TO LIMIT YOUR TASTE???

Updated on 2020-05-26

Hey,

Thanks for coming to the Idea Exchange.

We're excited to be marking this idea as implemented!
We've now removed the limit on saved items in Your Library, making it possible to save songs, and albums on Spotify to your heart's content.

As the app has changed quite a bit since this idea was submitted, please be aware that some functionality is now different. This change does not impact the limit on the number of songs in a playlist other than your Liked Songs.

For more info, check out this blog post.

The filter bar is still at the top of playlists but it doesn’t show by
default. You have to drag the playlist down once by swiping down in
playlist view and then it shows up. Note that this is a separate issue, not
related to this thread.

I've started up a 3 month trial of Apple Music becuase of the 10k limit. Seems like such a small issue but it's really bugged me. In three months I guess I'll have to make a call on coming back to Spotify or not.

So like everyone else here just hit 10k and found out about this ridiculous limitation. My 2007 iPod has more capacity and a better organisation then the world's 'premium' cloud based music streaming site? Insane. I really don't want to go back to Apple music but I will be doing just that...

I've been using Spotify for multiple years and this has always aggravated me. I fail to see how limiting the number of songs you can have in your Library ensuring a great experience for anyone, it just messes with users who do reach that limit.

No, there is no filter bar at the top of my playlist unless I go through the stupid process to make it appear. When I swipe down there's just a stupid blank space where it used to be. This just started a couple months ago, after I had already been using it just fine since June. I explained the relevance to this thread in my post.

Filter not appearing is a flimsy connection to this thread, but in any
case, if you wish to solve this issue that may happen when devices get
erratic (happens on both iPhones and Android phones) one tip would be to
simply uninstall the app, and reinstall it.

I did that the first day, but when it didn't fix anything I assumed Spotify had made the change on purpose and I carried that assumption until today. I hoped it would be followed by an announcement that the limit was removed and this had necessitated changing how the search function worked. I don't know much about that sort of thing but there had to be some reason why they claimed this change would detract from the user experience, and maybe this was it. But nope, nothing. And if this hasn't happened to anybody else then I guess I'm just special.

Right then, we'd better stay strictly on the topic of this thread so Spotify can continue to ignore everything we say.

So true mate. 1 update from Spotify in 4 years speaks volumes about how seriously they care about this.

Erwinstein

Dang, I need this too. Spotify is just so unreasonable.

Bad move, Spotify. Really.

An update to my original posts from Nov 18 on page 431.

I now have 10356 songs in my playlist.

I believe the problem is not the playlist itself, but could be associated with the coding for the 'Add to Playlist' button.

eg

If "playlist_a" is less than 10000, enable add song/album to playlist

If "playlist_a" is equal to 10000, disable add song/album to playlist
