Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

The reason I chose Spotify over Apple Music was the Touch Preview feature. You guys really messed up with the update. You claim you got rid of the feature because it resulted in “low engagement”, but by removing it there will inevitably be even lower engagement because many people, including myself, are switching over to Apple Music.

Spotify needs to understand that by pulling the rug out from under their users it erodes confidence in the overall product, and the vision behind it.

Most people didn‘t even know this feature existed... that‘s the reason for low usage.

For me, this festure was the reason why I switched to Spotify.

This was a great feature that let us preview a song without needing to play it. I used it often and noticed as soon as it was removed. There’s always a couple of times a week where I run into not being able to do this. I think it’s a great feature that helps Spotify listeners discover more music easily.

For me it was a great tool to build a playlist as you can sample and add quickly without leaving the screen you were on. So disappointed that this feature is lost, I cancelled my subscription.
