Main Idea: Adding a thumbs up icon next to each song, which then directly correlates to a Most Liked global playlist in the Browse section. Any genre of music from any location. This would open up many listeners to popular music and artists not heard on local/mainstream radio. This chart would showcase the Top 500 most liked songs on Spotify. Business Implications: Giving incentive to use the Spotify platform over Apple Music, and encouraging artists to share their chart position with their fan base if they crack the top 500, this organic charting system will inherently drive more users to the Spotify platform. Imagine an Indie Pop singer with 1 million twitter followers encouraging his/her followers to go and like their new track on Spotify, to help propel them on the Most Liked charts...the likelihood of retaining new users from examples like this is expounded when you consider the amount of undiscoverd talents with large followings out in the scene today. Promotes Brand Loyalty: This chart would also empower fandoms. Knowing Spotify will reward their usage and actions on the app will make them feel heard and instill a deeper loyalty above other streaming services. We would want Spotify users to say something like this: "Apple Music feels generic and money driven, Spotify makes me feel like I am a part of a community and I control the future landscape of music." The current Top Global charts seem radio and label driven. The Most Liked chart would be pure, organic fanbased interest.

Example: Duane Allman playing on St. Jude by Wilson Pickett. maybe even have the sample of their part as a feature. This will strength the relationship with the session artists (ones still alive) and band players. Add their bios too!
