I'll give you Aeris Theme from Final Fantasy VII by Taylor Davis & Lara de Wit

Aeris last survivor of Cetra, an ancient tribe using magic, goes to the Forgotten Capital to pray to activate her white materia using the ultimate white magic : Holy as Sephiroth has acquired the Black Materia containing Meteor the final black magic that can cause the world's destruction.

She decides to go alone, when the rest of the group finally reach her, she's murdered in front of their eyes by Sephiroth.
Cloud failed to protect her, the white materia falls in water, Sephiroth has now a highway to execute his evil plans.

I feel you. Some people like to listen to music they relate to, especially when they're in sad moods. I suppose I do this too, but I also just find sad music very calming, even when I'm not sad.
