The one album that I think got criminally ignored this year was Quilt - Held in Splendor. I thought it would show up on at least a few best of the year lists. Some of my favorite cuts from that album were:
Yeah there's been a lot of really tough choices. EMA, Mac Demarco, First Aid Kit and Quilt were all on and off the list, some returned and fell off again. I think in the end the choices really go with how close to the heart the songs manage to dig themselves.
Anyway, even if it's been tough making these choices - it's also been an enjoyment listening to all these great songs through the year.
Another song I enjoyed in 2014 was "Duvan" by Swedish group Amason.
I'm looking forward to the release of their first full-length album "Sky City" to be released in early 2015. Their previous track "Went to War" will be included on the album. It was one my top favorite tracks of 2013.
